MARRIAGE OF A FROM MINORITY COMMUNITY BOY AND A HINDU GIRL CANCELLED FOR NOW IN GARHWAL !

The former lawmaker of Uttarakhand, MLA from Pauri Garhwal assembly constituency and municipal chairman of Pauri township Yashpal Benam has finally cancelled / postponed the marriage of his daughter Monika Rawat to a boy Mohsin from minority community after the marriage card of the “would be married couple”, went viral in social media inciting mixed reactions, especially negative reaction from his own party and its various frontal organisations.

The politician father of the bride had to take the decision under pressure bowing to the outrage taking place in Uttarakhand and social media against this marriage.

Two days ago VHP, Bhairav Sena and Bajrang Dal activists led by Deepak Gaur , district VHP president strongly opposing the marriage of a Hindu girl with a boy from minority community had taken out a protest at Jhanda Chowk in Kotdwar and raised slogans against the Pauri, Garhwal, municipal chairman Yashpal Benam and also burnt his effigy.

There had been tremendous comments, majority of them against this marriage in social media especially after the invitation card published by the father of the girl that went viral in social media.

The marriage was to take place in a resort at Ghurdari, Pauri Garhwal on 28 th May. The boy and the girl were pursuing BTech from an institution at Roorkie where they were entangled in a love affair.

The boy belonged to Amethi originally. The former MLA n Chairman of municipal Corporation of Pauri hails from BJP and may be after seeking advise from senior party leaders, he must have withdrawn the marriage function and cancelled it for the time being reveal sources till the heat settles down.

Kindly recall that there had been lot of marriages between Muslim Boy and Girls but in Uttarakhand the marriage card has been published for the first time inviting his acquaintances to the marriage of his daughter with a boy of minority community. Though constitutionally the marriage is hundred percent viable n legal but the saffron party – that the father of the bride represents, targeted him out mostly with Bhairav Sena, VHP and Bajrang Dal activists burning his effigy publicly and demanding cancellation of the marriage, finally compelling the father to surrender. Taking this decision the father of the bride Yashpal Benam said that in view of maintaining harmony in the society I postpone all the three programmes of marriage with immediate effect.
