Many deserving personalities of Uttarakhand felicitated with Uttarakhand Gaurav Awards
Several intellectuals, social activists, educationists, thinkers, eminent bureaucrats, working on environment, Padam Shree awardees, musicians, IT professionals, those preserving n promoting the folk culture, music, dances and all those who matter in the society for their outstanding contributions were felicitated with Uttarakhand Gaurav n other awards with the basic motive to recognise their dedicated services, commitment to noble causes, especially those who are hidden talents but are seldom recognised though they matter the most in our society. This spirit of theirs should be admired and complimented thought the organisers of this event n this this initiative.
It is not that these personalities of eminence in their own spheres of excellence are desperate to get these awards or are in the wait to receive them but they are the ones who dedicate themselves with due conviction and never aspire for any recognition but to satisfy their urge to serve the society to the fullest and this is what, which actually inspires the present generation to move forward with selfless enthusiasm, zeal, energy and commitment to serve the masses in various diverse fields.
The credit goes to none other but an eminent social reformer, writer, thinker and a dedicated worker Dr. Surya Prakash Semwal n his entire team. Kudos.
The chief guests of this programme held in Dehradun on 26 th March were Padamshree and prestigious Nari Shakti Pustuskar recipient at the hands of president Ram Nath Kovind, Dr Madhuri Barthwal, eminent educationist Dr Tripathi, former chief secretary of Tripura, former DG, Ministry of environment and forests, an avid reader, specialist in environmental studies, author and president of Uttarakhand Raksha Morcha Dr. V. K Bahuguna, former Uttarakhand minister Mohan Singh Rawat, Gaonwasi, Mr Tawri, former IAS and thinker and others.
Speaking on the ocassion Dr Bahuguna, who was also felicitated with Uttarakhand Gaurav award for his outstanding contribution in environmental preservation and writings for awareness on ecology n environment, while congratulating the organisers said that he is elated to deliberate in a seminar of intellectuals and journalists on what needs to be done for the progress and prosperity of Uttarakhand.
Congratulating the organisers Dr. SP Semwal and president of Uttarakhand Journalists Forum Sunil Negi for playing a key role in this think tank along with other senior social contributors, Mr Bahuguna stressed the need for first ensuring cultural identity of Uttarakhand and to find out the reasons for tremendous increase ( 30 to 43 %) in voters list during last 10 years from 2011 to 2021.
He added that we need to think of ensuring the ecological integrity of the Himalayan state by keeping the mountains in harmony by planting more n more trees, conserving ground n rainy water, keeping checks of the entry of outsiderd, settling here without being verification, thus Imbalancing the demography of the peaceful state. He stressed that the new government must bring a strong land transfer Act like it is in Himachal Pradesh.
He added that preventing migration and stopping of contractual jobs and to ensure regular recruitments and also to reserve certain category of jobs in industries for the locals is the need of the hour.
Emphasising on the dire need for attending to the medical needs of the villagers he added that there is urgent and dire need to establish one medical college in each district as the health infrastructure in Uttarakhand being in tatters is the immediate need of the hour. He added : We also need one industry in each hill districts to provide atleast 500 to 1000 direct and indirect jobs added Dr Bahuguna.
Several speakers spoke on the ocassion speaking for the good of Uttarakhand on rampant exodus, unemployment, poor medical services, corruption and uncontrollable entry of outsiders in the state thus disturbing its demography.

Bahuguna, eminent bureaucrat and author in environmental issues, Dr. Rawalta, author n thinker Dr. Veerendra Barthwal, president of Uttarakhand Journalists Forum Sunil Negi, Dr. Amar Latta, Dr. Deepti Bagwari, Shashi Bhushan Badooni, Professor Rajkumari Bhandari, entrepreneur n social activist Pramod Raturi, Dr. Yashoda Semalti, journalist Pradeep Vedwal, Dr. Pawan Kumar Maithani, Vinod Nautiyal, Engineer Rajendra Prasad Semwal, senior journalist Vyomesh Jugran, IT Professional Anil Uniyal and others.
