Manish Sisodia granted bail by Supreme Court after being in Tihar jail for 530 days !

The former Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia who was incarcerated and lodged in Tihar prison for the last 530 days in Delhi government ‘s excise policy case, now scrapped linked to the liquor scam has today been granted bail by the Supreme Court. Delivering the judgement for the bail justices B.R.Gavai and K. V.Vishwanathan said that it would amount to the travesty of justice if Sisodia’s incarceration is continued without significant progress in the trial.

Earlier after being in Tihar Prisons for five months Sanjay Singh, AAP MP was given bail.

However, the Delhi CM Arvind Kejrival is still in Tihar prison in connection with the same case and have been filing petitions for bail in various courts but of no avail. He is in Tihar Jail since 21 March in cases filed by ED and CBI . The CBI had recently filed a charge sheet against Delhi CM in Delhi High Court citing credible evidences regarding accepting kickbacks from the South Lobby, after 712 days of registration of FIR.

One more Delhi former health minister Satyendra Jain is already in Tihar Jail for more than two years in a money laundering case under PMLA act.

Meanwhile the Delhi minister , vociferous Atishi was literally in tears when she got the good news about Delhi’s former CM Manish Sisodia having got the bail from the apex court.

The Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejrival tweeted from jail writing : Truth wins ultimately. The truth will finally win wrote Arvind Kejrival in his social media handle X.

The chief minister of Jharkhand Hemant Soren who himself is out on bail in a corruption case in a land scam has tweeted : Victory of democracy, defeat of injustice and dictatorship. Thanks to the Honorable Supreme Court, hearty congratulations to Manish ji. His struggle will become history and will inspire future generations. Delhi minister Atishi Marlena wrote on X : Satyamev Jayate.. Truth can be troubled, but not defeated. It may be recalled that the former deputy CM Manish Sisodia who was also the education minister of Delhi had worked hard to improve and upgrade the conditions of Delhi government schools lauded in entire country including the standard of education with government schools of Delhi bringing good and outstanding results. There were renovations of government schools upside down bringing them at par with the private, public schools. Manish Sisodia had earned name and fame for his outstanding work and contribution to improve the lot of the government schools which were in bad shape earlier.
