Majority of the murders connected with land deals. Police should keep themselves away from land matters says Haridwar MP Trivendra Rawat

The former chief minister of Uttarakhand and now Haridwar member of parliament vociferous Trivendra Singh Rawat has catagorically said that the main reason behind the increasing murders in Dehradun, Uttarakhand are due to the land deals, legal or illegal and the police machinery should not indulge themselves in the matters related to land deals/ disputes.

Rawat asserted that since the matters of land come under the state jurisdiction, I think that the police interference have immensely increased in land matters and disputes which is not correct. In my opinion the police interference in land related matters should be zero. The more will the police intervene this problem will take multidimensional shape and will further multiply. The chain will continue. If the murders in Dehradun which are related to land deals and scams are not controlled the situation may go out of hand. He said that the chief minister and DGP of Uttarakhand should ensure that the police should not interfere in the increasing land disputes and controversies as they lead to these fatal murders and stringent measures need to be taken forthwith to control these murderous tendencies said Rawat emphatically. The former Uttarakhand chief minister and Haridwar MP was speaking to reporters when his opinion was sought on the increasing human killings in Uttarakhand, especially Dehradun, the state capital. Former CM and Haridwar Lok Sabha MP Trivendra Rawat had earlier also given a speech in Parliament in which he has brought his own government led by Pushkar Singh Dhami under suspicion when he had said that the mining mafia in Uttarakhand has let loose its terror creating quite a havoc in Uttarakhand media circles. It may be recalled that in Uttarakhand there have been seven murders during the last eighteen days in which a gangster was shot and died, four murders of girls and a young man son of a former colonel etc. took place. The law and order situation in Uttarakhand in view of these murders with two in Haldwani where both the boy and girl living in live in relationship were brutally murdered with their heads smashed have sent shock waves in entire Uttarakhand and given the clear cut impression that the law and order situation in the Himalayan state has gone awry. As a result there had been reshuffle of SSPs and lower police officials on a massive scale. Earlier to these murders a boy with a Chinese look was also murdered in broad daylight passing racial slur on him. There have been several incidents of massive corruption and scams in land deals in Dehradun and Uttarakhand with several people dying of suicids and gunshots and criminals prospering due to illegal multiplication of profits with lands being illegally occupied by land mafia on massive scale etc. In the case of gangster Vikram Sharma who was shot dead by two hired criminals recently the deceased allegedly had thirty cases of murders on his head with fifty cases of other severe nature in total. He was living in Uttarakhand since 2010 , a crusher sanctioned during the tenure of Vijay Bahuguna being CM and till 2024 his antecedents not checked. Sounds shocking giving the unambiguous impression of the criminals being protected by the prevailing and earlier ruling political dispensation.
