Majority community leader Bhakt Darshan Bharti injured in Uttarkashi “Janaakrosh rally “
The Uttarakhand police had a hard day today after the majority community protest demonstration in Uttarkashi led to grievous injuries of policemen as well as a majority community self styled leader Bhakt Darshan Singh, known for his ire against the minority community claiming himself to be one of the sole leaders of the majority community. According to the latest news from Uttarkashi where hundreds of people hailing from the majority community protested today had to face the ire of others when Bhakt Darshan Singh and some policemen were injured and had to be admitted in the local hospital keeping in view the nature of injuries. This Hindu Janaakrosh rally ( Majority community public outrage rally) call was given by several Hindu organisations with leaders like Bhakt Darshan Singh at the forefront.
While the massive rally cum protest demonstration was in progress hundreds of policemen, security forces etc were deputed to control the mob.
However, while the procession of going on, the confrontation between the police and the demonstrators started with the pelting of stones and lathi charge going side by side.
This resulted in a stampede like situation. In the melee the Hindu community self styled leader Bhakt Darshan Bharti and some policemen were injured who are admitted to local hospitals immediately.
Swami Darshan Bharti had to be hurriedly ferried to the local hospital as the injured were grievous.
This stone throwing took place at the barricading when the massive crowd was insisting to move ahead to Bhatwadi and the police as well as security forces confronting the processionists not letting then go ahead.
After pelting of stones, the police had no option but to lathi charge the processionists many of whom including their leader Bharti and policemen were injured.
The angered demonstrators wanted to go to the religious spots towards Bhatwadi and the police wanted to avoid any confrontation between religious communities. As a result from the height of Varunavrat mountainous terrain the pelting of stones started leading to massive lathi charging as well as increase in tension reveal news reports.
The district magistrate and the SSP immediately arrived at the scene where situation was beyond control and extremely provoking.
Thereafter hundreds of demonstrators reached the collectorate damaging the barricades and raised tremendous slogans against the administration. The stone pelting continued to several minutes and the policemen were seen taking shelter on the side of the roads for safety with processionists advancing forward. The situation was indeed out of control and the video below is self explanatory.
It may be recalled that this rally called by several Hindu organisations in Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand titled as Jan aakrosh rally was the result of increasing encroachment by outside communities in holy township of Uttarakhand and in other areas as well. Their ire was especially against the minority community traders and petty shopkeepers and the residents as well.
