Mahua Mitra, TMC MP, refuses to be bogged down after her comment on Kali Goddess !
After the highly objectionable statement of the former spokesperson of BJP against Mohammed prophet, now suspended from the party with supreme court jurist reacting against her saying that she should seek a public apology from countrymen – now another controversy has erupted putting lid on Nupur Sharma episode for the time being. The vociferous Trinamool Congress MP Mohua Mitra’s recent tweet n statement in India Today event about Hindu Goddess Kali Maa, has raised another controversy with several BJP leaders demanding her arrest terming her tweet as highly objectionable and provocative. Even the Trinamool Congress to which she belongs and is an MP from, has sidelined itself from Mohua’s, statement saying that TMC strongly condemns such comments and the views expressed on Goddess Kali had been made in her personal capacity and has not been endorsed by the TMC in any form. Speaking in India Today’s conclave answering to the anchor’s question about a filmaker making a film on Goddess Kali smoking objected to by everyone in India , do you see that unconstitutional…. etc – articulate MP Mohua Mitra boldly responded : To me Goddess Kali is how your view your God, for me Kali is a meat eating and alcohal accepting Goddess. In Bhutan or Sikkim the devotees give whisky to God while praying, but if you say so in UP they ‘ll say it is blasphemous. I have a freedom to imagine my Kali, my Goddess that way. And I don’t think anyone’s sentiments may be hurt that way. I think – religion should remain in the personal ambit of the devotee said TMC MP Mohua. She also tweeted that Jai Maa Kaali “The Godess”, Bengalis worship is fearless and non appeasing. The BJP leader Poonawala immediately tweeted strongly objecting to her statement n tweet and Bengal BJP chief Suvendu demanding her immediate arrest. The BJP leaders have accused Mohua Mitra, TMC MP of provoking and outraging the religious feelings of the people saying that Goddess Kali for her is a red meat eating and alcohal accepting Goddess. Number of FIRs have been filed against her in several parts of the country by BJP activists but Mohua, says : file as much as tweets you can but I will fight them out as I stick to what I say. Reacting to Mohua’s comments the Hindutwa Hind criticized her tweeting : The statements of Mohua Mitra on the Kaali Poster controversy tell the true face of Woke-feminism under Liberal Democracy like India. This is the ultimate n true extent of capitalism where a privilehed bourgeoise like her won’t digest the rise of proletarian Hindus says the tweet.
Meanwhile, the controversial filmaker of Indian origin in Canada Leena Manimekali who is being strongly criticized for her documentary showing the Goddess smoking has tweeted against her trolls writing : These trolls are against my artistic freedom. If I give away my freedom fearing this mindless right wing mob mafia, I will give away everyone’s freedom. So I will keep up come what may. She said that a whole nation has become a hate machine censoring her, not feeling safe anywhere tweeted the Indian origin Canadian Film maker titled ” KALI”.
In another tweet she posted a picture of India artists in the make up and traditional attire of Lord Shiva n Goddess mentioning the title Elsewhere. The picture posted shows both the artists smoking .
