MAHILA CONGRESS ACTIVISTS GHERAO SSP OFFICE and court arrests DEMANDING CBI PROBE IN ANKITA BHANDARI CASE AND IMMEDIATE RELEASE OF ASHUTOSH NEGI

The Ankita Bhandari movement is gaining momentum day by day. After the arbitrary arrest of whistle blower, journalist and social activist Ashutosh Negi who is currently in Khandiosena, Pauri Garhwal Jail on unsubstantiated SCST charges, the wave of movement to demand his release and taking stringent action against the VIP named by the traumatised mother of deceased Ankita Bhandari has further increased with demonstrations, processions etc taking place in several parts of Garhwal, Uttarakhand. In Srinagar, Kotdwar and Pauri there have been massive demonstrations demanding Ashutosh Negi’s immediate release n in support of the demands with regard to the Ankita Bhandari case etc . Today at Pauri township hundreds of women protestors raising anti BJP government and anti police slogans protested against the administration and courted arrests. The protest demonstration was led by Jyoti Rautela, president of Uttarakhand Mahila Congress. She posted the information regarding her protest demonstration and subsequent arrest on social media platform X, Jyoti Rautela wrote in Hindi : Today we surrounded the SSP office in the district headquarters Pauri, demanding justice for Ankita Bhandari, CBI investigation into the Ankita Bhandari murder case and the release of journalist Ashutosh Negi. In this we are accompanied by State Mahila Congress District President Neelam Rawat ji, State Vice President Asha Manorama Sharma ji, State General Secretary Nidhi Negi ji, State Vice President Chandrakala Negi ji, Youth Congress State Vice President Mohan Bhandari ji, District President Mohit ji and a large number of women sisters and Brothers of Youth Congress participated. We warned the police administration that the demands of Ankita Bhandari’s parents who are sitting on an indefinite strike should be met and Ashutosh Negi should be released as soon as possible. The protestors were demanding immediate release of Journalist Ashutosh Negi, institution of CBI enquiry in Ankita Bhandari brutal murderers case in order to deliver due justice to the aggrieved parents of the deceased 19 year old girl Ankita Bhandari brutally killed on 18 th September 2022 after she had gone mysteriously missing from Vanantara resort at Yameshwar. It may be recalled that a special leave petition has also been filed in Supreme Court by senior human rights activist fighting pro bono cases Colin Gonsalves demanding CBI inquiry in the matter.
