Mahant Narendra Giri of Prayagraj given ” Bhu Samadhi. 18 member SIT to investigate. Culprits will not be spared at any cost says UP CM Yogi Adityanath
The Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Aditya Nath has has constituted an 18 member Special Investigations Team (SIT) to investigate into the suspicious suicide attempt/ murder of Mahant Narendra Giri of Prayagraj who allegedly died after a suicide. A suicide note was found in which deceased Mahant had blamed three disciples namely Anand Giri, Aadhya and Sandeep Tiwari accusing them of blackmailing and harassing him on various untenable charges. Aadhya is believed to be the gunner of Mahant Narendra Giri.
All the three have been taken into custody by the police with investigations going on. The chief minister of UP Yogi Adityanath and deputy chief minister Keshav Maurya has said that the culprits would not be spared at any cost and stringently punished.
Meanwhile, Mahant Narendra Giri has been given Samadhi after conduction of post mortem, by hundreds of saffron clad saints at Praygraj amid chanting of slogans hailing him.
The arrested culprits Anand Giri and Aadhya have been sent to fourteen days police custody, to probe the murder angle behind the said suicide.
Arrested saint Anand Giri who was considered to be the pupil of deceased Mahant Narendra Giri, president of Akhil Bharatiya Akhaara Parishad said that he is not involved in the death of his guru and is being framed by some vested interests under a conspiracy. He added that Mahant Narendra Giri had committed suicide on 13 September as well.
I wasn’t blackmailing him but has dispute with him over the sale of a shop only said Anand Giri.
According to the latest news president of 13 Akhhaaraas, Akhil Bhartiya Aakhara Parishad, Narendra Giri was being blackmailed by Anand Giri in social media and was shunted out of the Math but after he apologised bowing down on the feet of his Guru terming hum equivalent to God was excused by the Mahant. He sought apologies which was recorded and being relayed in various TV channels, now.
But in a suicide note written by Mahant Narendra Giri, before his death, he had openly accused Anand Giri, Sandeep Tiwari and Adhya for compelling him to take such an extreme step of giving up his precious life.
He also wrote that all the accusations against him are frivolous and baseless as he has neven given a single rupee to his family having severed links with them years ago. The saints community has expressed their condemnation over this tragedy saying that it is clear cut conspiratorial murder.
They demanded a Central Bureau of Investigations probe into this suspicious murder of Mahant Narendra Giri with Samajwadi Party leader and former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav demanding a supreme Court Justice led probe.
The Uttar Pradesh chief minister paid his floral tributes to Mahant Narendra Giri by garlending his huge picture and pledged to investigate his alleged murder and stringently punishing the guilty.
The senior Congress leader Rashid Alvi has termed Yogi Adityanath an incompetent chief minister under whose rule a Mahant has been murdered.
The Shiv Sena leader and spokesman Sanjay Raut compared this murder with Palghar sadhu lynchings and condemned it in strongest possible terms.
Samajwadi party has demanded a high level judicial probe into the murder of Mahant Narendra Giri.
