Magnificent newly renovated and reconstructed five storey building of Uttarakhand Niwas inaugurated by CM Pushkar Singh Dhami at Chanakyapuri
The chief minister of Uttarakhand Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday inaugurated the new Uttarakhand Niwas after its complete rehaul and renovation taking it from two to five stories having been accorded the five star status. It has been built with the cost of Rs 220.5 crores.
This new renovated magnificent five storey luxurious building primarily constructed after demolishing the old UP and then Uttarakhand Niwas has been primarily brought into existence for the comfortable stay of Governor, chief justice, judges, chief minister, chief secretary, and ministers of Uttarakhand government exclusively. The old Uttarakhand Sadan will continue housing the state lawmakers and their acquaintances as before.
Constructed with a unique Uttarakhand traditional touch at various places mixed with modern architecture this glamorous building was inaugurated by the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami in the presence of the UCC chairperson and former Press Council of India chief retired justice of Supreme Court Dr. Ranjana Desai, chief secretary Radha Raturi, cabinet ministers Dhan Singh Rawat, Prem Chand Aggrawal, Ganesh Joshi, Rajya Sabha MP n Uttarakhand BJP chief Mahendra Bhatt, several lawmakers from Garhwal and Kumaon and senior bureaucrats including members of parliament Trivendra Singh Rawat and Ajay Bhatt.
The union state minister Ajay Tamta was conspicuous by his absence. The chief minister and cabinet ministers performed the spiritual Hawan for about half and hour and the audience watched the spiritual Hawan ceremony on the large screen.
After the Hawan the chief minister alongwith with cabinet ministers inaugurated the building amid cheers.
The chief minister while addressing the audience lauded the excellent work executed by all those involved in the construction of the building patting his back and praising UCC chief Ranjana Desai to bring out the Uniform Civil Code so efficiently and before time, making Uttarakhand the first state in the country to take the lead in introducing UCC in the country lauded by prime minister Narendra Modi.
He also acquainted the audience about various ongoing achievements of his government and said that in terms of economic growth and progress Uttarakhand is privileged to have become the first state in the country.
The chief of UCC and former justice Supreme Court Ranjana Desai thanked the chief minister and all for giving her the privilege to preside over this significant event and praised Pushkar Singh Dhami for taking the lead in implementing the Uniform Civil Code in Uttarakhand hoping that God willing it will be implemented in entire country at the earliest.
The chief secretary Radha Raturi also spoke on the ocassion lauding the exemplary architecture of the new building and the traditional Uttarakhand look given to it to respect the Uttarakhand’s culturally heritage.
Good number of journalists, writers, literateur, social activists and Uttarakhandies living in Delhi were present on this ocassion.
