LEGENDARY GARHWALI POET LALIT KESHWAN AND POETESS, WRITER ACTOR KUSUM CHOUHAN FELICITATED and NEW book of Ramesh Ghildiyal released



The living legend , eminent litterateur , author of several books , poems in regional Garhwali dialects and Hindi Lalit Keshwanji and renowned actor who has acted in Uttarakhandi , Punjabi, and other regional films and author of few books on poems and literature Kusum Chouhan were felicitated with prestigious GARH BHARTI SAHITYA SEWA SAMMAN AND LALIT MOHAN THAPLIYAL NATYAKALA SAMMAN at Uttarakhand Sadan in an impressive function on 16 January.
The recent book of eminent hindi and Garhwali litterateur Ramesh Ghildiyal was also released on this occasion.The book in Garhwali dialect is titled ” TERO MERO SAATH CHAYO PAILO JANAM MAA”.
The event was chaired by Sushila Rawat , the first director of the Uttarakhandi regional film and a renowned script writer of Garhwali movies.
The professors of Delhi University Dr. B.S.Negi, Delhi University Teachers Association President were the special guests on the ocassion.
The author of the book released after the award felicitation event Ramesh Ghildiyal shed light on his new book and sought its critical evaluation by the journalists and the readers.
He thanked the audience for being present in such a good number despite the ongoing chilling cold weather.
The DUTA president B.S.Negi while lauding both the author of the new book in Garhwali dialect Mr. Ghildiyal and Kusum Chouhan, a celebrated actor and theatre activist including a poetess of repute and author congratulated them especially Lalit Keshwanji a leading living legend of Uttarakhand for receiving prestigious awards and reminiscenced as to how they have migrated to the national capital decades ago and then by the dint of their hard work and dedication including intelligence became professor and then DUTA chief after the struggle of twenty one protracted years.
Professor Aswal who is teaching in Delhi University since the last four decades said that he will work on the preservation and promotion of the Garhwali dialect and the works of eminent litterateurs and writers such as Bhajan Singh Singh and several others after retirement which is shortly due. He congratulated both the recipient of awards and lauded the Garhwali book written by Mr. Ghildiyal.
The awards, shawl, momento were delivered to the two recipient’s by Sushila Rawat, Dr. B.S.Negi, Ramesh Kandpal, Rajendra Chouhan,
Dr. Harendra Aswal, Bhaskaranand Kukreti, Laxmi Rawat and Sunil Negi, journalist.
The event was attended by eminent personalities of Garhwal and Kumaon living in Delhi NCR. Prominent among those present on this ocassion were Ajay Bisht, Raju Bohra, Prabodh Dabral, Mr. Kaintora, Pradeep Vedwal, Hema Pant , anchor, writer and theatre actor, Kusum Bisht, Nirmala Negi, poetess, writer, Satish Kaleshwari, actor, director, writer, Darshan Singh Rawat, Indra Uniyal, Poet Rawatji ” Chipdu Dada”,. The event was ably anchored by Dinesh Dhyani , litterateur and author.
