Left leaders and activists hold protest rally at Jantar mantar demanding apologies from union HM for statement against Dr. Ambedkar
Hundreds of activists and leaders of CPI, CPI( M) , CPI ( MLA) and Revolutionary Socialist Party etc staged a protest demonstration at Jantar Mantar against the statement of the union Home minister Amit Shah allegedly denigrating the reputation of the architect of Indian constitution Dr.B.R.Ambedkar. The union Home minister has in his speech in Lok Sabha said that these days it has become a fashion to raise the name of Ambedkar repeated. Had they instead of chanting the name of Ambedkar repeatedly chanted the name of Almighty , they would have been given place in Heaven. This statement of the union Home minister had raised tremendous uproar in the house with non BJP n NDA MPs opposing and staging walkouts in both the house if parliament including staging protest in parliament precincts with MP raising slogans against the government and holding play cards in hands denouncing the BJP led NDA government. At Jantar Mantar too the activists and leaders of left parties were holding placards and raising slogans denouncing the home minister asking for apologies n his resignation. The play cards read Baba Saheb Ambedkar ki virasat zindabad, down with the Manuwadi, Brahmanvadi BJP government, Will not tolerate the insult of Dr.Ambedkar etc. The senior leaders of CPI and former Secretary of Delhi state CPI Amarjeet Kaur and secretary CPI Delhi Council and General Secretary of AIKS Comrade Purshottam Sharma denounced the statement of the union Home minister and sought his apologies failing which he resignation from the post. The demonstrators led by senior leftist leaders including Amarjeet Kaur were holding a huge banner with slogan demanding apologies and resignation of the union Home minister Amit Shah.
