LEADING SOCIAL ACTIVIST, WRITER AND ACADEMICIAN OF UTTARAKHAND C. P. S. RAWAT IS NO MORE. RIP

A renowned social activist of Uttarakhand, academician and writer Chandrapal Singh Rawat breathed his last on 15 th December while at Kotdwar sending shock waves in Garhwal and socio political circles in the national capital Territory of Delhi in Uttarakhand circles in particular. Author of a book of compilation of various historical articles written by reputed authors on the tradition, culture, history etc of Garhwal, Uttarakhand titled GARHWAL AUR GARHWAL including several other books and hundreds of articles, stories and poetries Chandrapal Singh Rawat had retired as the principal of Government Boys senior secondary school who dedicated his, rest of the life in social service, philanthropy, writing articles and the activities of the biggest representative social organisation of Uttarakhand GARHWAL Hiteshini Sabha as its office bearer for several years contributing in the modernisation of the Building and the strengthening the organisation by his best efforts and initiatives. Chandra Pal Singh Rawat was 94 years old when he breathed his last. His father Jodh Singh Rawat who was also an academician played a vital role in imparting free education in Mandir Marg / Cannaught place during fifties, sixties and seventies to people of Uttarakhand n others who used to come to Delhi for petty jobs. He had opened a part time school to render free education to the migrants from hills who later on became officers in various government jobs becoming self reliant and arranging sustenance for their families living in villages in Garhwal. His contribution was immeasurable. The entire Uttarakhand community in Delhi in particular conveys its heartfelt tributes to this legendary social activist and academician for his unwavering commitment and contribution to Uttarakhand community. May the Almighty render peace to the departed soul. The Uttarakhand community in Delhi is indebted to the immeasurable contribution of Rawat ji to the society and the intellectual fraternity and students, youths and pray for peace to his pious soul. I repeat. His contribution to Uttarakhand society is unforgettable and incomparable. Om shanti.
