Landslide in Rudraprayag: Car hit by landslide, death of five Gujarati devotees who came to Kedarnath Dham. .Bodies of found under landslide debris

A horrific accident took place near Tarsali on the Rudraprayag-Gaurikund highway in which dead bodies of five people have been recovered inside the Swift DZire car, buried in a landslide that came downwards from the hills scattering on road blocking the traffic. The dead bodies were found along with the damaged Swift Dzire when the SDRF, border Roads Organisation n police was busy clearing the road of the huge landslide. Police took the dead bodies and sent them to the district hospital. Due to this accident, Kedarghati’s contact with the district headquarters has been completely cut off. The pilgrims who are reportedly from Gujarat and had come to Kedarnath for obeisance died under the huge landslide due to asphyxiation.

On the other hand, due to the disruption of this route from the Kedarnath Yatra to the general public, life has become chaotic, while the district administration, the police administration has appealed to the pilgrims going to Kedarnath to stay where the pilgrims are for a few days. The Kedarnath road has become dilapidated at many places and is breaking again and again. Traveling in such a situation is not free from danger.
District Disaster Management Officer Nandan Singh Rajwar told that the passengers buried under the debris are residents of Gujarat. Identity cards have been found with the dead, through which their names have been confirmed. Police is taking further action.
