Landslide at Ardhquari at Vaishno Devi with several pilgrums injured leads to temporary hassle at the religious shrine
After a massive cloud bursts tragic incident at Kishtwar killing fifty five persons including at Doda today another massive landslide occured at famous Vaishno Devi shrine at Ardhquanri where there are reportedly several pilgrims feared injured, The confirmed news about the numbers are still awaited
According to a message on X by the Vaishno Devi Shrine Board a landslide incident has occurred near Inderprastha Bhojnalaya at Adhkwari, some injuries are feared. Rescue operations are underway along with required manpower and machinery. Jai Mata Di wrote the Board on X. There are also unconfirmed reports that the visit to the shrine in view of this massive blockade by landslide has been stopped temporarily. Thousands of pilgrims visiting Mara Vaishno Devi Shrine daily from various parts of the country.
Due to the ongoing monsoons and the increasing incidents of landslides , ecological catastrophe and traffic blockade may be the rush of pilgrims must have receded.
There had been incessant rains at the Vaishno Devi shrine for the last three days resulting in the landslide.
The rescue operations are underway with the required machinery and equipments at the landslide site.
The former Uttarakhand chief minister Harish Rawat in a statement while expressing his anguish iver this tragedy said :
The news of the death of several people and injuries to many others due to the landslide on the Vaishno Devi Yatra route is extremely sad. I convey my condolences to the disaster-affected families and pray to Mother Vaishno Devi for the speedy recovery of the injured wrote Harish Rawat on X.
