Lakshya Sen, Uttarakhand raised hopes of medal in badminton, reached semi-finals in Paris Olympics

Indian shuttler Lakshya Sen defeated Taiwanese player Chau Tien Chen in a tough match that lasted 3 games in the quarter-final match of the men’s event at the Paris Olympics.
In the history of Olympics, no player has won any medal for India in men’s badminton till date and Lakshya successfully grabbed this opportunity. If he wins the semi-final match also then the medal will be confirmed.
This match lasted for three games, the first game of which was won by the Chinese Taipei player while the last two games were won by Lakshya.
Now Lakshya is just one win away from securing his medal. Lakshya has defeated the opposition player by 19-21, 21-15 and 21-12.
After losing the first set against Chinese Taipei’s Chou Tin Chen, Lakshya made a spectacular comeback in the second set.
After losing the first game, he created excitement in the match by defeating the opposition player 21-15 in the second game. After this, in the third game also, Lakshya created history by defeating Chou Ten Chen by a huge margin of 21-12.
Lakshya has become the first Indian player to reach the semi-finals of badminton men’s singles in the history of Olympics.
