Two weeks ago after a you tuber and an independent journalist Praveen Thapa has embarked upon a foot journey of three hundred kilometres from Kotdwar to Delhi and a delegation meeting the Garhwal MP Anil Baluni recently demanding the construction of the Kotdwar Chillarkhal Marg which is a long pending demand of Kotdwar residents, hundreds of them today marched in Kotdwar demanding immediate fulfilment of this demand.
The protestors were raising slogans against the ruling party BJP government and demanding immediate construction of the road which would serve the purpose of the Kotdwar residents to reach the state capital Dehradun quite in time reducing the long distance as of now.
The present MLA from Kotdwar who is also the speaker of Uttarakhand assembly and earlier MLAs Surendra Singh Negi and Dr. Harak Singh Rawat who had also been cabinet ministers in previous Congress and BJP governments had failed to do the needful despite raising this issue on every election and promising to get it built after election but all in vain finally compelling the Kotdwar residents to come on roads to protest vociferously.
The independent journalist Praveen Thapa is still in Delhi to meet the union Transport and Highways minister Nitin Gadkari with this demand to get it fulfilled at the earliest saying that till doesn’t meet the union minister Mr. Gadkari he will be staying in Delhi.
