While the Delhi election campaigning is in full swing and the national convenor of AAP Arvind Kejrival and former deputy CM Manish Sisodia are the party candidates from New Delhi and Jangpura assembly constituencies both have suffered yet another jolt as the union Home ministry has given permission to the start the legal proceedings against both of them in the now scrapped Delhi’s new excise policy related liquor scam’s bribery case under the PMLA act in which both are out currently after being grated bail few months ago.
The home ministry has accorded permission to the enforcement directorate to restart the legal proceedings against Arvind Kejrival and Manish Sisodia under the severe PMLA act.
It may be recalled that the apex court had in the month of November last year has ruled that in order to restart the car proceedings against Arvind Kejrival a public servant a new permission from the government agency is required. This plea was made by Kejrival to the Supreme Court while seeking bail. The Enforcement directorate had declared the AAP national convenor as the main mastermind d kingpin of the liquor and bribery scam. He was allegedly charged for accepting a huge bribe from the South lobby. According to the latest media reports the union Home ministry has granted permission to the enforcement directorate to restart legal proceedings against Kejrival under the PMLA act with regard to liquor and bribery scam linked with the new ( now scrapped) liquor policy of the Delhi government. The Leutienant governor V.K Saxena had last month accorded his consent in this regard recommending to the union Home ministry. The national convenor of AAP Arvind Kejrival wasstarted on 21 st March 2024 by the ED under PMLA and was released in bail from Supreme Court on 13 September 2024 on split opinion on CBI’s arrest.
