Kaisarganj controversial MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh’s son gets BJP ticket in his place. Dinesh Singh to contest from Rae Bareilly

While there is still a suspense on Rai Bareilly and Amethi parliamentary seats with the names of CONGRESS General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi and former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi doing the rounds likely to be declared this evening, the name of Robert Vadra is also in the news as a possible contender from Amethi. Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi who is the sitting MP from Waynad , Kerala is again fighting from here, but there are reports that he may contest from Amethi as well to avenge his defeat in 2019. Currently the union minister Smriti Irani is the MP from Amethi and is contesting for the second time. Though Rahul had lost from Amethi and won from Waynad in 2019 the Amethi electorates are badly repenting and have pledged to make Rahul Gandhi victorious this time with more than four lakh votes, reveal sources. From Rae Bareilly Priyanka Gandhi is the best bet with majority of the electorates wanting her first, then Rahul or any member of the family. They are solely with the Gandhi family and Priyanka’s close aide K.L Sharma is already in Rae Bareilly to make all the necessary arrangements for nomination. After sitting MP Sonia Gandhi winning from Rajasthan as the Rajya Sabha MP due to her health problems, the Rae Bareilly seat has fallen vacant and the electorates of this constituency want Priyanka Gandhi Vadra as the first and foremost choice, though they are fully prepared to accept any member of the Gandhi family. Rae Bareilly and Amethi are the traditional Gandhi family parliamentary seats with Sanjay, Rajiv, Rahul having represented from here number of times. Rae Bareilly had been represented earlier by the former prime minister Indira Gandhi who was debarred by the then Alahabad high court judge Jagmohan Sinha from Rae Bareilly on the petition filed by Raj Narain the then central health minister during Janata Party rule. After having lost the case, Indira Gandhi has imposed emergency in the courty then. Meanwhile, the controversial Kaiserganj M. P. and former WFI chairman Brijbhushan Sharan Singh has been denied ticket this time but his son Karan Bhushan Singh has been given the ticket by BJP high command. From Rae Bareilly the BJP leader Dinesh Pratap Singh is the official candidate.
