Justice Delayed Is Justice Denied !
The doctors of the entire country are today up in arms in the form of a twenty four hours strike which ends at 6.AM on 18 August against the barbaric murder after obnoxious rape of a 31 year old doctor in a private medical College in Kolkata. There have been widespread protests by the general public, the medical fraternity of West Bengal opposition BJP leaders and party in the state with its towering leader Suvendu Adhikari alongwith others knocking the doors of justice in the Kolkata High court demanding CBI inquiry into this most barbaric murder after the rape of a hapless and innocent young doctor. Even in Uttarakhand the medical fraternity, the association of doctors have positively responded to the call of the India medical council and staged peaceful protests in the state going on the 24 hours strike in hospitals affecting the medical services to some extent. The outrage by the opposition political party BJP in West Bengal against this most obnoxious rape and subsequent gruesome murder is certainly a welcome step and so is the protest by the medical community and the general public including other political parties. The pressure of the media and the protest of masses have finally exerted moral pressure on the judiciary as well and the honourable bench of the Kolkata High Court has immediately recommended the case to the India’s premier agency CBI in response to the petitions filed from some quarters including the BJP leader directing for indepth probe and nabbing of the culprits to be tried under the relevant stringent sections of the law. This is indeed a highly welcome decision of the Honourable High Court of KOLKATA and everyone is appreciated it. Today, attacks on the dignity of women and our girls including children who have become highly vulnerable are becoming regular victims of such Human beasts. On the contrary the case of the Nirbhaya of Najafgarh, Kiran Negi , who was obnoxiously gangraped and then brutally murdered in 2011 – 12 few months before the Damini of Vasant Vihar running bus case, has finally resulted in the convicts going free from the apex court due to the case being full of legal loop holes despite the fact that the Dwarka sessions fast track court and Delhi High Court had accorded the culprits the capital punishment. The Ankita Bhandari case of Yamkeshwar , Rishikesh Vanantara Resort in which a 19 year old innocent brave girl with poor financial background hailing from a village of Pauri Garhwal was brutally murdered after she refused to oblige a VIP by the son of a BJP leader former state minister in Uttarakhand, now expelled from the party, his brother also being the state minister rank holder is being processed in a court with turtle walking speed and a petition already filed in Honourable Supreme Court requesting for CBI probe after the state high court has refused to recommend the matter to the India’s premier investigating agency. The petition has been filed by the journalist and activist Ashutosh Negi who has been put behind bars in unsubstantiated case of SCST in another matter vindictively with his wife also transferred to distant Pithoragarh , now on stay accorded by the Uttarakhand High Court. There had been ample protest demonstrations and dharnas in Garhwal and other parts of Uttarakhand including in the national capital demanding CBI enquiry in this most sensitive case but of no avail rather there had been several accusations by socio political activists about the case of Ankita Bhandari being processed at a snails pace with state BJP leaders not agreeing to recommend the matter to CBI. Now, see the double standard of the saffron party in Uttarakhand. The voice of hundreds of protestors, women , youth including the media and the aggrieved parents of the victim for a CBI probe has not been entertained since the last more than two years since the main culprit is the son of the former BJP leader and in Bengal where the BJP is in opposition , its leaders and workers are hell bent upon demanding CBI probe and holding protest demonstrations which are indeed the welcome initiatives but the moot point is why double standards in seeking justice for the victims of brutal rape and murder is two states one ruled by their party and another by the opposite party. The law should be equal for every victim as justice delayed is justice denied. GOD GIVE PEACE TO THE DEPARTED SOULS AND HARSHEST OF THE PUNISHMENT TO THE MODT DREADED CULPRITS OF THESE MOST OBNOXIOUS AND BRUTAL CRIMES.
