JOURNALIST DEEPAK SHARMA WORKING IN TIMES NOW DIES OF DENGUE IN A DELHI HOSPITAL. RIP
A young journalist, father of two lost his life battling with dreaded Dengue in a Delhi hospital this evening sending shock waves in journalistic fraternity of the national capital and NCR.
Delhi witnessed around five thousand Dengue cases this year with 4,725 cases of dengue reported till October 21 more than just double till same month, the last year as per the data of Municipal Corporation of Delhi considered to be highest during the previous five years.
Deepak Sharma working as senior guest coordinator in Times Now – Nav Bharat breathed his last on Monday evening battling the dreaded Dengue in Preet Vihar hospital in East Delhi.
As per the latest news reports the journalist Deepak Sharma battled for four days after being admitted in the super speciality Metro hospital on Friday but unfortunately was on ventilator as his condition deteriorate from bad to worse with doctors not able to revive him.
According to Free Press Journal Deepak had welcomed a son a fortnight ago.
Having worked in News 24, Network 18 and India TV he was presently working in Times Now – Nav Bharat.
Just few days ago the Delhi’s media fraternity lost Sandeep Thakur a senior journalist in Mumbai who had worked in Hindustan, Rashtriya Sahara, Ravivar etc for over three decades or more covering crime.
He had gone to meet his only daughter from Delhi to Mumbai where he suffered cardiac arrest dying on the way in an ambulance.
Another veteran journalist working in Univarta also died just two days ago covering agriculture for a long time.
Deepak Sharma is survived by his two children , wife and parents.
Meanwhile, the Press Club of India while expressing its deepest condolences wrote of X, earlier Twitter : We mourn the loss of Deepak Sharma, a journalist with Times Now Navbharat channel, who passed away this morning due to #dengue. We stand in solidarity with his family and friends in this hour of grief and pray for eternal peace to him. #RIP
