Jawaadi, Rudraprayag Landslide was massive , people fled the scene saving themselves

During 2024 there had been 1500 landslides in Uttarakhand and 132 locations identified as highly sensitive and landslide probe on Chardham Yatra route

A powerful landslide in Jawaadi near Rudraprayag led people to flee helter and shelter to save their lives as it continued for few seconds and its impact was tremendous.

As a result the traffic on both sides of the roads, the national highway has been completely halted for hours together with several agencies including the SDRF , BRO and ITBP etc on the job to clear the debris.

The point is this landslides was so powerful with heavy boulders falling down in including millions of tonnes of Silt, mud and stones that the road seems to have been washed away by the forceful impact of the landslide fall.

The people on both sides of the roads were terrified and ran with speed to save themselves leaving their cars and bikes behind in terrific fear.

Life has become hell in the holy areas these days and the so called environmentally unfriendly development of all weather roads and underground rail projects including widening of roads in the hills have started exhibiting its serious consequences, which is extremely dangerous and life taking.

While during widening of the roads the way the contractors use the dynamites for cracking the rocky mountains or even JCB drillers the already fragile mountains of Uttarakhand which are on the growing stage according to he seismologists become hollow from inside and during rains fall massively in the shape of landslides.

The Joshimath landslide two days ago was also extremely horrific which created terror in the area with traffic being blocked for hours together and people running away in a hurry saving themselves.

According to the year 2024 statistics, in Uttarakhand during monsoon about 1500 landslides have occured and the State Landslide Reduction and Management centre has identified 132 locations as extremely sensitive and prone to landslides with many along the chardham routes.

In addition to these, thirty five locations have been identified as new landslide zones with ongoing risks.

According to the BBC and Guardian News more than one hundred people are reportedly missing from Dharali after the ravishing flash floods with more than fifty seven houses swept away with several hotels and other commercial establishments in addition to hundreds of cars, bikes and other items n articles unaccounted for.

The journalists have been complaining till yesterday that they are not being allowed to go to the tragedy spots and this their constitutional rights to report from ground zero is being snatched away they being the fourth important pillar of constitution and democracy.
