Jaspal Rana’s brother Subhash Rana, coach in Paralympics presented prestigious Dronacharya award by president Draupadi Murmu
The younger brother of international shooting champion – God medallist and coach of back to back two Gold medal winner in the recently held Olympics Manu Bakar , Jaspal Rana namely Subhash Rana, a resident of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand and famous para shooting coach, has been awarded the prestigious Dronacharya Award for his excellent anf outstanding work in the field of sports coaching especially in Shooting to the outstanding shooters in Paralympics.
The prestigious Dronacharya award was presented to Paralympic coach Subhash Rana by the president Draupadi Murmu in a glittering function at Rashtrapati Bhawan in the presence of important dignitaries including prime minister Narendra Modi and his some members of his council of ministers.
It’s indeed a matter of immense pride for Rana family as now there are three prestigious Dronacharya award recipients at the hands of three different presidents bestowed on Narayan Singh Rana, father of Jaspal and Subhash Rana, Jaspal Rana , the international shooter winning Gold medals in Asian and Commonwealth games and coach thereafter and Subhash Rana receiving the Dronacharya today for coaching the shooters in Paralympics bringing laurels for the nation by winning several prestigious gold Medals from a single family.
The President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu, presented the Sports and Adventure Awards 2024 at a function held at Rashtrapati Bhavan today (January 17, 2025). The Awards include Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Awards-2024; Dronacharya Awards-2024; Arjuna Awards-2024; Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Awards-2023; Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Puruskar-2024; and Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad Trophy -2024.
Subhash Rana has been conferred the Arjuna Award alongwith several other Arjuna recipients in different sports for his outstanding contribution and achievements in imparting training to many outstanding Para athletics including Manish Narwal, Rubina Francis, Singhraj, Awani Lekhara. These players have win medals at Paralympics games 2021 and 2014, A rod championships 2022, World cups 2021- 24, and Asian para games 2023.
