Dr. Ambedkar hospital and medical institute under the jurisdiction of the government of NCT , Delhi which caters to the patients of the poor and lower middle class patients of Rohini, Rithala, Mangolpuri and Sultanpuri including Naharpur etc is not delivering the Insulins and cheap medicines to the patients since the last few months.
There have been several complaints in this regard. The irritated patients were heard murmuring with their fellow patients in Hindi ” inse badhiya to Kejrval tha” Kam se Kam unke samay mein insulin aur sabhi davaiyaan to milti thee” . ( Kejrval was better them the present govt. At least we used to get insulins and other medicines regularly).
The patients of the lower strata of the society suffering from acute diabetes, neurological issues and other critical illnesses stand on long queues since morning 7 AM and when the counters of the pharmacists are open at 9.30 AM gossiping among themselves paying no attention to the patients in queue their simple one line reply is that Insulins , injections and medicines except very few are available finally compelling the poor and hapless patients return back home empty handed and demoralised.
So much talk is being made about the Ayushman Bharat scheme in Delhi but in Dr. Ambedkar hospital, Rohini and several other government hospitals insulin, injections and other medicines are not available with poor patients compelled to buy them from the open market. Sounds utterly shocking that when the previous government of AAP was functioning the Insulins, Injections and medicines were freely and easily available.
Several years ago there were raids in this hospital during the Sheila Dikshit’s tenure and a big scam of corruption in medicines and inefficiencies was unearthed with the then Medical Superintendent and subordinate staff suspended for their involvement in this shabby affair.
It may be recalled that medicines, Insulins, injections and other medical facilities are available free of cost in every government hospital in Delhi for the last several years.
But since the last few months delivery of insulins, injections and other important medicines are not available in Dr. Ambedkar hospital, Rohini with Thousands of poor patients returning back home, compelled to buy them from the open market.
The Uttarakhand Journalists Forum appeals to the Delhi chief minister Rekha Gupta and the Delhi health minister Dr. PANKAJ KUMAR SINGH to kindly conduct surprise checks in Rohini, Dr. Ambedlar hospital and ensure the immediate deliveries of insulin and other medicines to the patients forthwith in wider public interest
