After winning three back to back Bronze medals in Shooting events by Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh in Paris Olympics raising the Indian Tricolor high , in Hockey the brilliant Indian Hockey team has today made another outstanding feat of defeating the Australian Hokey team after fifty two protracted years. This is indeed an outcome to rejoice for. According to news reports the Indian Hockey team has for the very first time since 1972 Olympics after defeating Australia has defeated it after fifty two protracted years again today. WOW. The victory by 3-2 goals was achieved by Indian Hockey team defeating Australia in the final Men’s Hockey pool B match under Paris Olympics held in Friday. This victory could become possible after Abhishekh and Harmanpreet Singh scored two goals whereas Thomas Craig and Blake Govers stuck for Australia. However, the leading senior sports journalist Rajendra Sajwan though happy on this victory against Australia but has a different opinion as well. He said : By defeating Australia in the hockey match of Paris Olympics, India has registered victory over Kangaroos after 52 years in the Olympics. Of course, Indian players deserve gratitude. In particular, goalkeeper Sreejesh’s performance was phenomenal, making beautiful saves on about half a dozen occasions. Even though we lost to Belgium, the performance was excellent. In the initial matches against New Zealand, Ireland and Argentina, the Indian team looked scattered. As a result, Indian players had to face criticism from all sides. Indian hockey fans started cursing their team. But in the last few years, it is natural for the morale of the Indian players to be on high with the victory over the Australian team which defeated India by seven-eight goals.
