India will continue to work closely with Nepal for the well being and prosperity of the people of both the countries – MEA

The India government has heartily welcomed the formation of new government in Nepal with the first woman chief justice seventy three year old Sushila Karki becoming the interim prime minister of Nepal on the demand of Gen Z protestors.

After taking charge as the interim PM after swearing in, Sushila Karki has appreciated the long term relations with India and the latter always coming to the rescue of Nepal.

Her statement was heartily welcomed by the prime minister Narendra Modi who responded on X saying : Heartfelt congratulations to Hon’ble Mrs Sushila Karki upon assuming the office of Prime minister of Nepal’s interim government. India is fully committed to the peace, progress and prosperity of Nepal’s bothers and sisters wrote PM Narendra Modi in X.

Meanwhile in a statement the external affairs ministry felt that the appointment of Mrs Sushila Karki as the interim PM of Nepal India is highly optimistic that this would help in fostering peace and stability. The ministry further said that as a clause neighbour, a fellow democracy and a long term development partner, India will continue to work closely with Nepal for the well being and prosperity of the people of both the countries.
