INDEPENDENT JOURNALIST AND ACTIVIST PRAVEEN THAPA REACHES DELHI ON FOOT IN 11 DAYS IN SUPPORT OF LONG PENDING DEMAND OF Laldhang Chillarkhal Marg

Will meet minister Nitin Gadkari

An independent journalist and activist Praveen Thapa resident of Kotdwar has come to Delhi today reaching Jantar Mantar all alone to meet the union minister of Transport, Roads and National Highways Nitin Gadkari , on foot covering a distance of two hundred kilometres in eleven days facing various odds and challenges in the way. He reached Jantar Mantar this morning all alone where he sat in the pavement with one of the colleagues having a sip of tea with no body around him. The main demand of this independent journalist and social activist is the completion of the work on Laldhang Chillarkhal Marg which is a long pending demand of more than two lakh people of Kotdwar confronting tremendous inconvenience with the central government paying not heed towards this protracted demand. In the absence of this road the people of Kotdwar and elsewhere who come to Kotdwar and those who go to the state capital Dehradun have to go via Najibabad covering a long and tiresome distance said Pravin Thapa , a resident of Kotdwar Pauri Garhwal. A man of guts and gumption with commitment and determination Praveen Thapa without taking anyone’s help and support came to Delhi on his own to meet the union minister of Roads, Transport Highways and shall be meeting him in the near future having sought appointment probably. Sounds really shocking that a determined person comes to Delhi from Kotdwar on foot and there is not a single man to receive him. I myself feel guilty and sorry. We have hundreds of social organisations of Uttarakhand in Delhi who are active, culturally and also in social media on flamboyant mode , usually, but nobody took any notice of him. This was probably the lack of the part of Pravin Thapa’s colleagues who didn’t even highlighted his itinerary on the social media.
