Independent candidate, comedian Shayam Rangeela’s nomination papers from Varanasi rejected

Shyam Rangeela, a renowned comedian (these days in particular,) whose videos and interviews on various channels especially You tubes are going viral imitating prime minister Narendra Modi is an anguished person today as his nomination papers from Varanasi against prime minister Narendra Modi has been rejected despite the fact,according to his statement and his advocate that all his papers were in order.

According to the news, his nomination has been rejected on the ground that his affidavit wasn’t submitted alongwith the documents.

Shyam Rangila is highly disheartened and said by rejecting his papers which were in absolute order, democracy has been murdered. The former president of Press Club of India, twice , Umakant Lakhera in a brief post on social media handle X wrote in Hindi :

In Varanasi, the District Magistrate rejected the nomination of comedian Shyam Rangeela on baseless pretext. Where Modi is contesting, people who objected to the nomination were already posted in the District Election Office. The behavior of the District Magistrate with the citizens of India contesting the election was rude write senior journalist in X.

Reacting to the cancellation of his nomination papers from Varanasi constituency Shyam Rangeela said that the election commission has made this election a game. Today our nomination has been rejected. He asked if it was to be rejected than why was it accepted yesterday. The DM said my papers were cancelled because I haven’t taken the “Shapath”. All the candidates who had filed papers haven’t been given Oath said Rangeela. When I asked that you have not given us oath, he ( DM) said it wasn’t my duty, you should have brought it. I alongwith other candidates waited here from 10 th to 14 th after Modiji filed his papers on 13 th . We went inside on 14 after Modiji filed the papers after great difficulty but our papers were rejected. We anyhow managed the Oath Affidavit in the night and went to DM’s office from where we were shunted out by the DM. On the day of withdrawal there was a long queue of candidates and finally at police started collecting, some of them thrashed independent candidates. I had no option but to thank the DM and came back empty handed.

Out of the forty three independent candidates thirty three candidates’ nomination papers have been rejected with only 6 independents in the fray now against prime minister Narendra Modi.

Meanwhile after posting his video of interview to the media Shyam Rangeela posted on social media handle with the remarks : It was decided that he will not be allowed to contest from Varanasi, now it is clear The heart is definitely broken, but the spirit is not broken. Thank you all for your cooperation. I request the media and well-wishers to please not call now. Whatever information I have, I will keep sharing it here. Perhaps I don’t feel like talking for a while now.
