The Indian Mountaineering Federation is all set to bring the thrill of competitive climbing to the HIMALAYAS with the Uttarakhand Cup 2025
– LEAD AND SPEED CLIMBING COMPITITION scheduled to take place on 5 th and 6 th September, 2025 at the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering, Uttarkashi.
Throwing light about the event the Indian Mountaineering Federation president Colonel Vijay Singh, VSM said that the Uttarakhand Cup is envisioned to inspire and empower the Youth of Uttarakhand providing them with opportunities to engage with the magnificence of this sport.
He added that the event represent not only the pursuit of excellence in climbing but also the enduring spirit of resilience – the determination to rise above the challenges thrive even in the most adverse conditions.
Above all, the Uttarakhand Cup stands as a tribute to our brothers and sisters who list their lives during natural calamities, honouring their memory through courage, unity and strength said Col. Vijay Singh, president IMF.
Giving details information about the Prizes Colonel Vijay Singh said :
With cash prizes, medals, and certificates on offer, the two-day event will feature senior lead and speed competitions, along with exciting U15 and U13 rounds, concluding with award ceremonies on both days.
The Uttarakhand Cup 2025 is expected to draw wide participation and promises to be a thrilling celebration of climbing in the heart of the Himalayas.
Kindly recall that the event is organised by IMF North Zone sponsored by the Uttarakhand Tourism and Trek the Himalayas and hosted in partnership with Indian Mountaineering Federation.
Bringing together India’s finest climbers, the championship will see participants compete in LEAD AND SPEED CLIMBING across three categories viz. Seniors, Under 15 and Under 13 said the president, IMF.
