In Sitarganj assembly constituency which is represented by the cabinet minister and he son of former chief minister of Uttarakhand Saurabh Bahuguna, heroin in small packets known as smack, is being sold uninterruptedly with the local police administration being negligent and apathetic with lives of the youngsters being spoiled on massive scale. The local politicians and intellectuals are also mum on this development.
After the news about this arbitrary business of illegal drugs sale was reported by a local journalist Ehsan the former MLA Narayan Pal alongwith several local people came at the luxurious bungalow of the lady and her gang selling smack vigorously and said that if the local police will not initiate stringent measures to arrest the culprits and stop the illegal business of drugs in Sitarganj he will personally come here with a JCB, buldozer and destroy the luxurious house of the drugs seller lady including staging a dharna, there.
He appealed to the people to unify themselves and fight against the prevalence of drugs in Sitarganj which is spoiling the lives and academic career of the youngsters.
The former MLA Narayan Pal accused the local police officers for allegedly being in league with these drug smugglers and said that had the police really been honest this uninterrupted drugs sale would have stopped and peoples’ lives saved.
Terming the smack as a toxic substance which is spoiling the physical and mental lives of the youngsters of Sitarganj and the adjoining areas, former MLA Narayan Pal said that despite a video going viral in social media about the women preparing packets of smacks for sale among the people, the police has taken no legal action to put a full stop on the sale of the illegal drugs business.
He appealed to the local police administration to take immediate urgent action against these drugs smugglers and stop this illegal and obnoxious drugs supply business once for all permanently within a week’s time including arresting the culprits failing which he will sit on Dharna in front of the drug smugglers lady’s bungalow and bring a JCB to destroy the building himself.
Let the police register a case against him and take action said the former MLA from Sitarganj. This constituency was earlier represented by Vijay Bahuguna, the then CM Uttarakhand and now by his son Saurabh Bahuguna who is the minister in Uttarakhand government.
It may be recalled that the drugs business has become widespread in Uttarakhand and criminals from other states are finding this Himalayan state as a safe haven not only to seek refuge after committing crimes elsewhere but also to flourish their drugs smuggling network in collaboration with the concerned authorities.
After the news went out and the video about the women making packets of smacks had gone viral in social media, the house of the lady drugs seller is locked and she absconding along with her associates of the illegal drugs business.
