I lost my membership, my house, my uterus but I came victorious as a fearless woman says TMC MP Moitra

The most vociferous 49 year old parliamentarian fully backed by West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee who was ousted from the Lok Sabha during the 17 Lok Sabha in the month of December 2023 by the ethics committee for sharing her log in credentials and password with an unauthorised person and for being extremely vocal against the BJP led NDA government in Lok Sabha Mohua Moitra on Monday came down heavily of the treasury benches while speaking in the thanks giving motion after the president’s address in the Lok Sabha.

As soon as the firebrand leader of TMC started her speech the prime minister Narendra Modi left the Lok Sabha with Mohua Moitra passing remarks on the PM to at least accept her congratulations and hear her , despite the very fact that he came twice in her constituency to ensure that she is defeated.

But highly spirited Mohua Moitra said Sir I have returned back standing victorious.

Giving a hard hitting speech while Jagdambika Pal on the chair , Mohua Moitra while addressing both the houses on the thanks giving motion after president’s address said that the ruling party would not be able to treat the opposition the way they had treated in the 17 th Lok Sabha.

Referring to the treatment meted out by her in Lok Sabha during the last session Moitra said in josh that Last time when I stood up to speak , I wasn’t allowed to speak but added that the ruling political dispensation have to pay a very heavy price for stifling the voice of the MP reminding regarding her suspension n expulsion from the Lok Sabha membership, she losing her house and even uterus after she underwent hysterectomy ( surgery).

She emphatically said that the people of the country punished them for throttling her voice and the BJP had lost 63 MPs, coming to 240 numbers.

Looking firceful while delivering her speech in English as usual she accused the ruling party for making her lost my house, her reputation and even my uterus, but despite all this I came out as a victor against fear and today I am a fearless woman said Moitra challenging the treasury benches with her hard hitting speech.

Taking on prime minister Narendra Modi defiant n vociferous Moitra said that during his speeches in election he always mentioned M word prominently , like Muslim, Madarsa, Mujra, mutton, Machli, Murga, Mangalsutra but never uttered a single word of Manipur.

She asked why don’t we need to look and act at the East ? We need you to work East and embrace East said Moitra amid thumping of the desks.

Speaking on women empowerment claims of the government as completely untrue Moitra challenged it saying that you deliberately delayed the reservation of women in parliament unambiguously meaning that you fear the Women’s power. In support of her statement she put forth the statistics saying that in parliament there are in all 74 women MPs out of which the saffron party only have thirty MPs out of its total 240 strength.

Lauding the Trinamool Congress party’s respect for women she said that on the contrary the TMC has 38% MPs this time , one percent more compared to 2019 figures.

Ridiculing the BJP for always promoting the ultra rich she said that while the Trinamool Congress has has empowered three lakh deedis by making them lakhpaties, the BJP seems to have made several arabpati Dada’s amid laughter and thumping of desks.

She said that the BJP’s rajtantra has been reduced to mere 240 seats lacking majority by the loktantra . You government is now no more stable running on supportive crutches. On Kashmir issue especially after abrogating article 370 and making tall claims of development in the strife turn Kashmir Moitra questioned the saffron party leadership in the presence of the entire house n home minister Amit Shah n defence minister Rajnath Singh that if abrogation was so necessary and relevantly important then why was the BJP afraid and had not fielded candidates from Baramullah, Srinagar, Anantnag – Rajouri. You downgraded Ladakh and five years after they are still waiting and relentlessly struggling for their inclusion in the sixth schedule. Taking a dig at the bullet train project of the prime minister she said while expenses of a single train project on Ahmadabad to Mumbai costs more than 1 lakh 20 thousand crores the total Kawach system of Indian railways costs just Rs 63000 crores at the pan India level to avoid collisions and accidents .

Criticizing the role of the Election Commission of India in his speech Mohua Moitra, TMC MP said : We stood triumphant not because of the Election Commission charging that most of the election commissioners deliberately turned deaf years to the most egregious violations of the model code of conduct even blaming prime minister. This election of 2024 will be remembered for the EC turning a blind eye and deaf years towards the ruling party saying that ultimately the electorates took the charge as they said enough is enough now said Mohua Moitra.
