Husband wife brutally thrashed and killed by the wild elephant in Thano forest area at Jollygrant
A very tragic news is coming from Rishikesh, Dehradun Jollygrant area where an angered and badly furious elephant has brutally killed a husband and wife having gone in the jungle by repeatedly throwing them and crushing with his dreaded legs. After hearing this tragic news the villagers n those residing nearby in the surrounding areas reached the tragic spot and found both the husband wife badly crushed with their severely injured dead bodies lying their in mutilated condition. The panicked villagers thereafter informed the police who immediately called the SDRF team who took the bodies via ambulance to the mortuary of the Jolly Grant Himalayan Hospital. According to the news the seventy year old Rajesh Pawar and his wife Sushila Pawar aged 65 have gone to Thano forest range to arrange fodder for their domestic pets. While they were busy cutting the grass , shrubs etc for the fodder of the domestic pets the enraged elephant came their from the jungle and attacked both the husband and the wife thrashing them with his legs and trunk. There are lots of wild elephants in Rishikesh jungle range near Jollygrant who very often come on the railway tracks or in between the Rishikesh Dehradun roads and damage the vehicles etc. There had been several incidents of wild elephants being hit by running trains and elephant groups coming all of a sudden in front of the playing vehicles creating fatal accidents.
It’s very tragic death of a couple by the furious, wild elephant. Both of thems rest in peace!
