Husband and wife die due to asphyxiation under the landslide debris at MOPAATA, Dewal block in Chamoli Garhwal
The ongoing Uttarakhand has approached with ravishing floods, massive landslides, cloudburst incidents, boulders falling down causing fatalities and above all the government of the day despite its best efforts helpless in front of the nature’s fury due to man made ecological disasters.
As a sequel to the ongoing ravishing floods due to massive rains and cloud bursts etc the landslides have brought Havoc in Uttarakhand with more than 1500 landslides taking place on Badrinath Kedarnath highways alone.
Just today morning in a massive cloudburst at Deval block’s MOPAATA AREA in Chamoli block two live one of a husband and another his wife were found buried under the forceful debris of a landslide giving them no chance to resusticate themselves, thus dying brutally due to asphyxiation.
The locals and the team of SDRF and the police retrieved the shocking dead bodies from under the rubble after great efforts.
This tragedy has sent shock waves in the entire Chamoli district of Garhwal.
The Uttarakhand chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami while expressing his condolences said : Badath Dungar Tok under Tehsil Basukedar area of district Rudraprayag and Dewal area of district Chamoli have received the sad news that some families have been trapped due to debris. Relief and rescue operations are going on war footing by the local administration, in this regard I am in constant touch with the authorities, after talking to the Disaster Secretary and District Magistrates

necessary instructions have been given for the effective conduct of the rescue operations. I pray to Baba Kedarnath for the well being of everyone said Pushkar Singh Dhami CM.
