Hundreds of Youth Congress activists protest outside UP Bhawan n court arrests against the brutal killing of farmers in Lakhimpur Kheri and the forced arrest of Priyanka Gandhi

New Delhi, 04 October 2021:

Indian Youth Congress protested outside Uttar Pradesh Bhawan against the brutal killing of farmers in Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh and the forced arrest of Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and courted arrests as well.

In the evening hundreds of Youth Congress activists staged a long candle March holding hundreds of lightened candles in their hands and raising slogans condemning the brutal killings of farmers in UP and their leader Priyanka Gandhi’s arrest. The protestors with candle in their hands were holding a huge banner titled “Lakhimpur Kisaan Narsanhar ke khilaaf Yuva Congress ka candle March”, ( Candle March of Youth Congress against the brutal massacre of farmers)

The Indian Youth Congress chief Srinivas BV said that the manner in which the farmers are being crushed in this country, there is no word for it. This tragic incident of killings of eight farmers including death of a journalist shows that this government is doing politics of crushing and destroying the farmers intentionally. This country is a country of farmers, not a field of BJP ideology said IYC chief Sriniwas. The fight for the rights of the food givers will not stop now he added . He also said that when ‘history’ will be written, it will also be remembered who was fighting on the streets when the Lakhimpur farmer massacre took place, and who was celebrating the death of food donors while resting in their homes. Expressing condolences has also become a crime these days and UP has now become ‘Afghanistan’ and Yogi government is in the role of ‘Taliban’

In a press release the Indian Youth Congress chief , Srinivas BV also asked whether Smt. Priyanka Gandhi is now the biggest target for the entire UP Police. The arrest of a leader with Z+ security without any warrant, and treating an MP like Mr. Hooda goons who accompanied Priyanka Gandhi, is highly condemnable said Sriniwas BV. He added that this is only the beginning of the fight and in the end truth will win, by all means added IYC chief.

Indian Youth Congress National Media In-charge Rahul Rao said that many Youth Congress workers participated in the protest outside Uttar Pradesh Bhavan, many workers were also detained by the police. National President of Mahila Congress, Ms. Neta D’Souza n good number of Mahila Congress national office bearers and workers were also present. Prominent among those present were General Secretary of Indian Youth Congress and Delhi In-charge Bhaiya Pawar, National Media In-charge Rahul Rao, National Secretary Ishita Sedha, Mukesh Kumar etc added the release.
