IYC activists arrested while burning effigy of a Central minister for her indecent remarks for agitating farmers
Hundreds of Youth Congress activists wearing green turbans today expressed their solidarity with the agitating farmers at Jantar Martar led by BKU chief Rakesh Tikaith and staged an acrimonious demonstration burning the effigy of the Union Minister Minakshi Lekhi raising anti minister slogans and finally courting arrests after breaking the police cordons. Carrying play cards in their hands and raising anti Minakshi Lekhin slogans hundreds of ferocious Youth Congress activists led by its national chief BV Sriniwas were protesting against the Union minister Minakshi Lekhi for calling the farmers ” MAVALI”, ( ruffians).
However, after realising her mistake in view of the serious repercussions of her bad mouthing she publicly apologised in order to pacify the highly exasperated farmers. Addressing the Youth Congress activists, the national IYC chief Sriniwas BC while condemning the indecent remarks of the minister Menakshi Lekhi said that farmers are not Mavali but the keepers of Mother India terming them as the real feeders of 135 crore Indians.
He added that this shows her poor thinking and mentality towards farmers of our country. Speaking in support of the ongoing farmers struggle For the lady eight months Srinivas BV said that the country’s food producers have been fighting day and night on the border of Delhi against the three black agricultural laws, leaving everything behind, but the pro capitalist BJP government is trying to prove them as Mawali who are being crushed for their peaceful actions. Cautioning the BJP led government to give up victimising the farmers of the country, IYC national chief warned that the country’s youth will not let it succeed in their conspiracy.
National President Shri Srinivas BV also said that farmers are not mawali, they are the caretakers of this Mother India, they are the food producers of the country. But the arrogance has become so dominantly influenced the BJP that it is not missing any opportunity to insult the farmers. While criticizing the minister for her shameless act calling farmers as mawali, the IYC chief YC chief Srinivas BV demanded that Meenakshi Lekhi should go to the farmers sitting on the border of Delhi and apologize , otherwise she should resign from her post as the country will not tolerate the insult of its food producers.
Youth Congress national Media In-charge Rahul Rao said that when Youth Congress colleagues came to protest today against Union Minister Meenakshi Lekhi’s use of indecent language for farmers, they were arrested.
Many Youth Congress workers including national general secretary, Youth Congress and Delhi in-charge Bhaiya Pawar, Delhi, Youth Congress President Rann Vijay Lochav also pro actively participated in this demonstration.
It is so surprising that instead of fighting out the strike to finish farmers’ agitation, I personally feel, there should have been sincere efforts to solve the problem. Any thing, that has to happen tomorrow should be envisaged and settled so that loss of time money and efforts could be saved. Son of the soil may be adamant, but govt attitude should be soft towards the agitating farmers, being special specie of democratic society. Ministers should select words before speaking these out before agitated public.
