Hundreds of Congress activists protested at Haridwar demanding raising of Sugarcane prize more than Rs 425 per quintal led by Harish Rawat
Hundreds of Congress activists, leaders and farmers today participated in a protest demonstration and march titled as KISSAN SAMMAAN YATRA led by former chief minister veteran Congress leader Harish Rawat and former education minister Mantri Prasad Naithani demanding more than Rs 425 per quintal for Sugarcane at the earliest raising slogans holding play cards and Congress flags finally presenting a memorandum to the SDM addressed to the chief minister The protest march was organised from Balawali Chowk to Tehsil headquarter Laksar where the protestors met the SDM and handed him the memorandum in support of their demands. Former Congressman chief Harish Rawat in his FB post wrote : In honor of #farmers, today participated in #Kisan_Samman_Yatra organized from Balawali Chowk to Tehsil Headquarters Laksar demanding immediate declaration of sugarcane price (beyond ₹425 per quintal). At the conclusion of the yatra, the memorandum of farmers’ demands was sent to the Honorable #Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Government through SDM sir.
During this, hundreds of farmer brothers and sisters, Honorable former Minister Shri Mantri Prasad Naithani, Honorable MLAs, Honorable former MLAs, Haridwar/City District Congress President, senior Congress leaders, Congress Seva Dal friends and workers participated in the Kisan Samman Yatra.
