Hundreds of Congress activists protested against BJP government in Uttarakhand for seven murders in 16 days
Presented memorandum to the SSP, Dehradun

The Uttarakhand seems to be on an extremely active mode and all the leaders of various factions are uniting themselves to counter the saffron party on various issues, especially on the deteriorating law and order situation in the Himalayan state where during the last sixteen days there had been seven brutal murders of innocent girls and men and a mafia don of Jharkhand who had shifted his base to Dehradun and the police couldn’t verify his antecedents, with the mafia don Vikram Sharma infiltering into the system fearlessly. The way seven murders took place in Dehradun, Haldwani and Rishikesh during merely 16 days it looked as if the criminals have no fear of the law enforcing agencies and the law of the land. The situation went so awry and out of control that the Uttarakhand chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has to reshuffle the entire police officers of the rank of SSP up to the police station levels. The Dehradun SSP Ajay Singh was transferred to other place and in his place the pro active upright SSP Pramendra Dobhal has been brought to Dehradun who was credited for improving the law and order situation in Haridwar and Roorkee. The SSPs of other districts too were shuffled to improve the law and order situation. Today several leaders of Uttarakhand Congress alongwith hundreds of Congress activists holding the party flags, placards etc held a string protest demonstration in Dehradun against the deteriorating law and order situation in the state, particularly in Dehradun and handed over the memorandum to the SSP Pramendra Dobhal. The memorandum eas presented to the SSP Dehradun by the Uttarakhand Congress chief Ganesh Godiyal, Pritam Singh, the Uttarakhand Congress campaign committee chair ef Dr. Harak Singh Rawat and others. Dr. Harak SINGH said that Five murders in Dehradun and a double murder in Haldwani over the past 15 days have shaken the entire state. An atmosphere of fear and insecurity exists among the public, while the government and police have completely failed to control the situation.
The Congress leaders Ganesh Godiyal, Dr. Harak Singh Rawat and Pritam Singh said thatOur clear demand is that it is the government’s responsibility to ensure a crime-free and safe state. Our struggle to ensure public safety, justice, and accountability will continue.
