In Uttarakhand’s various hill stations including at Spiritual destinations especially at Char Dham Portals several incidents of hooliganism are being witnessed with outsiders under the guise of paying obeisance to the deities are seen involved in thrashing tourists / pilgrims with no apprehension of law and order or the police.
During the peak summer especially during the months of June the rush of tourists to hill station is uncontrollable and the hotels, resorts are full with the majority of outsiders thronging in large numbers inviting quarrels and incidents of physical fights not worried of the police intervention.
The massive rush of the You tubers, selfie takers including vloggers and bloggers are also visiting these hill stations and spiritual destinations in large numbers in order to enhance their TRPs, likes and, views to earn monetary profits.
However, they create a lot of bottlenecks in pursuance of the religious and spiritual activities making the environment extremely non serious.
Several videos have recently gone viral in social media showing goons of other states arguing with the locals , even thrashing them and running away giving threats of dire consequences using abusive languages.
In Kedarnath today several hooligans under the guise of pilgrims are seen literally beating an individual badly with lathis ( sticks) not afraid of police or law and order.
The pilgrims living in tents are badly terrified.
The holigans were seen literally running with lathis and thrashing an individual with full force not caring if he died of the thrashes.
The video has gone viral in social media and if the police takes notice of it , maybe they will be caught and punished under the relevant sections of the law but we aren’t sure.
The incidents of hooligans roaming around in the intoxicated state in hill stations and threatening the local populace and fighting in streets and roads during jams at spiritual destinations and hill stations have become a common feature with several videos going viral in social media.
The government and the law enforcement agencies will have to ensure that the hooligans coming from outside the state in large numbers with heavy quantity of liquor to hill stations and spiritual destinations clandestinely and then establishing their hegemony , threatening and thrashing innocents should be kept under check failing which Uttarakhand the land of abode of Gods will turn not only a haven for hooligans but the lives of the innocent public will also be endangered.
One of the FB users posted a video of an attack of hooligans on an individual literally injuring him grievously by thrashing him repeatedly fracturing his head . He wrote in Hindi with the video : Outsiders continue to terrorize Kedarnath. Early in the morning, they attacked with sticks near the tent. When the sound of hitting was so loud, I started thinking how many people there must be. The video was made from a distance.
