Home secretaries of 6 states and DGP of West Bengal removed ahead of elections. Trinamool Congress strongly criticizes BJP
The Election Commission of India has issued orders for the removal of home secretaries in six states . The decision has been taken after the chief election commissioner Rajiv Kumar had declared the dates of the general election and its entire schedule. According to the ANI : The Election Commission of India has issued orders for the removal of home secretaries in six states namely Gujarat, Uttarakhand Pradesh, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Additionally, the Secretary of the General Administrative Department of Mizoram and Himachal Pradesh have also been removed. The election commission has also taken the necessary action to remove the Director General of police ( DGP) of West Bengal as per sources. In Uttarakhand the home secretary removed by the Election Commission was also the Departmental Secretary of the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. Therefore he was removed. His name is Shailesh Bagauli. Meanwhile the All India Trinamool Congress leader Kunal Ghosh has strongly criticised the ruling party BJP for removing the Director General of Police of West Bengal ahead of the elections saying that “BJP is trying its best to grab the organisations like ECI and so on. They are trying their best to grab and monitor their job only to fulfil their political purpose. So, according to their program, their planning, according to request from different states they have done this.” Wrote ANI quoting Tarun Ghosh in social media platform X.
