Home minister Amit Shah’s direct challenge to former Congress CM Harish Rawat for open debate with his Yuva Morcha leader

The public meeting of union home minister Amit Shah has ultimately given a new energy and enthusiasm to the ruling Bhartiya Janata Party especially the cabinet minister Dr. Harak Singh Rawat who was cajoled and tamed by him as there were lot of speculations about his tremendous ” Narazgi”, within BJP supposedly joining Congress. The former Uttarakhand CM Vijay Bahuguna and Dr. Harak Singh Rawat were seen sitting together having lunch with the Union home minister in a jubilant posture, obviously sending signals that Mr. Shah has cajoled them fully, with no risks of any further defection.

Kindly recall that there were rumours that Dr Harak Singh Rawat and some BJP lawmakers may probably join Congress with Dr. Rawat’s name figuring in the list prominently.

Meanwhile, the Union home minister Amit Shah while addressing a public meeting doing the “Shriganesh”, of the BJP election campaign accused for Congress CM Harish Rawat on various points especially on the issues allegedly pertaining to “Namaz” to minority community n declaring holiday on Friday and allowing the majority sale of Dennis brand of liquor in entire Uttarakhand stall playing with the health of this so called brand’s consumers.

He also challenged Harish Rawat directly to face his Yuva Morcha leader for an open debate on Congress and BJP menifesto points saying that BJP has fulfilled fifty percent of its promises whereas Congress has fulfilled none while he was the chief minister of Uttarakhand.

Union home minister castigated the UPA government for not spending anything on the development of Uttarakhand during its ten year old tenure but patted his government for investing Rs 85000 crores for various development projects in Uttarakhand. He cautioned the people not to vote for Congress which always indulged in scams n corruption.

The Congress leader Harish Rawat has while responding to the Union home minister’s allegations on Dennis liquor brand said that he is ready to ask apologies and stand responsible if anyone has died after consuming Dennis brand but what about the people who died by consuming poisonous liquor in Uttarakhand during their tenure for which they have not even financially adequately compensated the bereaved family. The BJP govt should have atleast compensated the families of those who died after consuming illicit liquor prevalent in the state.

The political atmosphere in Uttarakhand have been fully charged as the entire cabinet, chief minister, all BJP MPs, lawmakers and office bearers were trying to impress the Union home minister Amit Shah by their presence and moving around the stage to show their faces.

The dabang MLA Kunwar Champion was not allowed to sit on the stage who argued with and allegedly heckled the minister Dhan Singh Rawat.

The way Union home minister Amit Shah openly accused and challenged Congress veteran leader and former CM Harish Rawat, it is absolutely clear that now the direct fight in the state would be between BJP and Harish Rawat who is being seen as the next chief minister of Uttarakhand by the BJP top leaders as usually the party is accused by senior leaders not an individual as Amit Shah accused Harish Rawat bringing him in the centre stage of Congress politics as the one n only key leader under the target of BJP national leadership say political analysts.

Now, in Congress except Harish Rawat no other leader stands relevant and important as far as the next Uttarakhand Congress CM is concerned if the party comes to power. By challenging Harish Rawat, Union home minister has actually enhanced the stature of Rawat recognising him the tallest leader of Congress in Uttarakhand with other leaders being diluted.

Kindly recall that the term of the current Uttarakhand assembly will come to an end on 23rd March 2022 and the elections will be held in February, 2022. There are three major political parties in the fray viz BJP, Congress n AAP with Uttarakhand Kranti Dal also contesting on all the seats in the 70 member Assembly.
