Himal Gusain wins 37th All India Railway Individual Championship 2025

Himal Gusain, representing Western railway, has won 37th All India Railway Individual Championship 2025 by scoring an unbeaten 6/7. He finished a half point ahead of the field. GM Shyaam Nikhil P (Integral Couch factory, Chennai), GM Mitrabha Guha (Metro Railway, Kolkota) and IM Aronyak Ghosh (Eastern Railway) secured 2nd, 3rd and 4th position respectively. They scored 5.5/7 points each and their positions were decided on the basis of tie -breaks. IM Aronyak Ghosh (Eastern Railway) is defending champion.
Himal Gusain, the top rated and only IM from Chandigarh, has already qualified for FIDE World Chess Cup 2025 to be held in India from 30 October to 27 November 2025. And with this win he has also qualified for World Railway Championship 2025 to be held in Quiberon, France from 6th to 10th October, 2025.
