Heavy rain of three hours trigger major landslide at Vaishno Devi Shrine, heli services off since the last five days, trolley service too stopped to Bhairon Valley including the battery vehicle services

A massive rain in Vaishno Devi triggered a huge landslide resulting in complete stoppage if the battery vehicle services up to the Vaishno Devi Shrine though the walking path is still open and the devotees going on foot to the pious shrine have continued their Yatra irrespective of any serious description. According to the latest news where thousands of pilgrims from Jammu Kashmir and from various states of the country throng here in large numbers confronted the massive landslide after rains which resulted in tremendous bottleneck at the Himkoti route to Vaishno Devi shrine where the cemented structures and heavy pillars of the shed were completely damaged with panic spread among the devotees who take this route either in foot or to hire the battery vehicles. Though this path and the battery services have been completely blocked currently the tradition old path to the shrine is open and is being used by the pilgrims on foot without any interruptions. The massive landslide at the Satya view point after three hours of incessant rain resulted in covering the thirty feet lane completely with stones, mud and debris in large quantity sending panic signal around. While the heli services had already been withheld for the last five days the battery services have been stopped pending the clearance of the area of the dbris, mud , Stones etc with complete repairs etc including the cable service to Bhairav Valley from the Shrine has also been halted due to the rains and inclement weather. More than 18000 pilgrims had registered for the Yatra on Sunday on around thirty five thousand in Monday. The management of the Shrine, the state disaster management authorities and the labourers etc are clearing the paths up to thirty feet of alm the heavy rubbish to enable early opening.
