Health Minister Dr. Harshvardhan n Babul Suprio out, Thawar Chand Gehlot made governor
After the ouster of union education, labour and employment, chemical and fertilizer ministers viz Dr. Ramesh Pokhariyal Nishank, Santosh Gangwar, Sadananda Gowda and five other ministers, Mrs Deboshree, Thawar Chand Gehlot, Ratan Lal Kataria etc two big wickets has come down. The union minister of health and Family welfare with the charge of Science and Technology Dr. Harshvardhan has resigned and his resignation sent to prime minister’s office.
According to the latest news union minister Babul Suprio, Bollywood singer has also resigned.
Now there are two resignations from Bengal viz Deboshree Chowdhury and Babul Suprio. Babul had contested the MLA election from Bengal and had lost it despite being a union minister at the centre.
This brought bad name for BJP. This is a big breaking news as the resignation of health minister Dr. Harshvardhan and Babul Suprio during challenging Covid times unambiguously indicate that the prime minister is not happy and satisfied with their performance during the first and second wave of Covid and Bengal elections, asking them to resign.
There are clear reports that the ministers who had been ousted couldn’t perform well during their respective tenures with prime minister asking them to vacate seats for young, educated and even professionally experienced nominees below fifty eight years old holding outstanding degrees, knowledge and expertise in their respective fields.
The majority of the ministers ousted are above sixty years and some of them not keeping good health as well in addition to their not so satisfactory performance during Covid times.
The PM seems to be more interested to bring forward swift, energetic, qualified and blot less incumbents taking special care of caste, statewide representation including adequate representation to the alliance partners especially in view of the ensuing elections in several states. This time five cabinet ministers are being inducted from Dalit, OBC n backward classes with 23 incumbents likely to be included in the new union council of ministers.
According to the latest news Thawar Chand Gehlot, minister has been made governor.
It may be recalled that till now there have been eight resignations from council of ministers and the prime minister has catagorically indicated that he will in future not tolerate any inefficiency in the performance of the ministers who will have to quit in the next rejig.
The ouster of union minister Dr. Harshvardhan, Dr. Nishank, Babul Suprio, Deboshree Choudhary n other ministers have unambiguously indicated that those who haven’t performed well n adequately either in elections or during Covid times to counter dreaded pandemic have been dealt with strongly by way of asking their resignations.
This reshuffle does indicate two thing very straight, he who will not perform will have to quit or dropped. The others who have been newly inducted with this message mind are like to perform tirelessly. But Tirath SR was not all fault. He was sacrificed for being strict and ardent follower. I have seen him as president of the State BJP, where he performed untiring and was found and decisive. I feel sorry for him.
