Harish Rawat gains full say in Uttarakhand Congress with Pritam Singh camp demoralised

It seems that now the factionalism ridden, Congress politics in Uttarakhand has come on rails especially after the change in state leadership and veteran Congress leader Harish Rawat having his fullest say, by becoming the chief of the party’s campaign committee and positioning his stooge as the new party chief of Uttarakhand compounded with keeping his ardent detractor Pritam Singh at bay, though he has been nominated as the opposition leader after the sad demise of Dr. Indira Hridayesh. The state assembly elections are due for 2022, just eight months ahead. Meanwhile the incharge of Uttarakhand Congress and secretary AICC Devendra Yadav and former CM Harish Rawat have already cleared the confusion about projecting a prospective CM CM candidate before elections by issuing public statements clarifying that the entire party will contest the elections unitedly with the CM to be elected from within the party MLAs after it secures the requisite majority.

However, despite this, Harish Rawat protagonists like Harish Dhami, lawmaker, Jot Singh Bisht and Mathura Prasad Joshi stare Congress leaders are still publicly issuing statements favouring the former as the prospective CM candidate under whose leadership this election would be contested, further annoying n already exasperated outgoing state Congress chief Pritam Singh, who too has strongly contradicted Harish Rawat being projected as prospective CM of Uttarakhand. After the declaration of new state president MLA Ganesh Godiyal, considered to be Harish Rawat’s appointee replacing Pritam Singh including adjusting lot more Rawat supporters in the new body, Pritam Singh camp is still badly demoralised.

Though four working presidents have also been appointed along with the new party chief Ganesh Godiyal to keep a check on him, two of them viz Jeet Ram and Tilak Raj Behad being his yesman. However, the new treasurer Aryendra Sharma is Rawat’s ardent rival say sources. However, in the main campaign committee led by Harish Rawat, both MP Pradeep Tamta and Naresh Aggrawal are both Rawat’s supporters. Conclusively, it can be said that though the chairman of the Party’s campaign committee is Bhuvan Joshi considered to be Harish Rawat’s ardent rival, being the chairman of the campaign committee with Rajya Sabha member Pradeep Tamta and Naresh Aggrawal as vice president and convenor, Harish Rawat will project himself indirectly as the chief Ministers face while appearing before the mass gathering in public meetings n media during the assembly election campaigns in entire Uttarakhand thus serving his actual purpose.

Moreover, having his trusted colleague as the state president, Harish Rawat will be able to get maximum tickets to the candidates of his choice in the ensuing election paving the way for becoming the next CM of Uttarakhand reveal sources. His proximity with the central leadership the Nehru family is also well known.

After being free from the Punjab Congress imbroglio Harish Rawat has now tightened his belts to commence campaigning in Uttarakhand. Just a day ago general secretary and Uttarakhand campaign committee chairman Harish Rawat, state president Ganesh Godiyal n RS MP Pradeep Tamta had a delayed meeting with Uttarakhand Congress incharge Devendra Yadav at his residence to chalk out a strategy regarding commencement of campaign in various parts of Uttarakhand.
