Harish Rawat and Ganesh Godiyal in the highest decision making body of Congress, CWC as permanent and specially invitees
The Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge had constituted the new Congress Working Committee, the highest decision making body of the Congress party. From Uttarakhand this time , the former Uttarakhand chief minister Harish Rawat has been made the permanent invitee, though he was already in the previous CWC under Rahul Gandhi as president. But continuation of Harish Rawat as permanent invitee in CWC along with other senior leaders like former CM Karnataka Veerappa Moily, Jayanti Natrajan, Pawan Kumar Bansal, Ramesh Chennithala, H. K. Hari Prasad etc this time as well, it clearly indicates that seniority and experience has been entertained while including Congress leaders in the Congress Working Committee. What is more important this time is that the former chief of Uttarakhand Congress Ganesh Godiyal has for the first time been included as special invitee along with renowned Congress leaders viz Pawan Khera, Supriya Shrinate, Alka Lamba etc ( spokesman of the party). This indicate that he has good chances of entering national politics later on and the party has recognised his services in right esteem. The former observer of Uttarakhand Congress Devendra Yadav has been made the exofficio member, though he was earlier too in the CWC. By his inclusion in CWC as a special invitee means the stature of Ganesh Godiyal has enhanced in state Congress politics as during CWC meetings he would have the opportunity to come close to various senior state and central leaders of Congress including top brass Rahul, Priyanka and Sonia Gandhi who are also in the CWC.
