The Uttarakhand police are definitely on the toes coping with the tense situation in Haridwar where chaos and violence have become an order of the day. The Shravan festive season has commenced and the population of the Shiv Bhakts , the Kaanwariyas from all over the country, especially from the states close to Haridwar like Delhi, Haryana and parts of Western Uttar Pradesh etc has increased multiply with incidents of quarrels, violence and thrashings increasing. During the last few days there had been three , may be more incidents of some hoodlums under the guise of being Kanwariyas have smashed three cars, including a Scorpio of a Patwari with police subsequently arresting and sending them to jails. The social media is agog with these highly sensitised news with video of open loot and destruction of shops and cars etc by these violent hoodlums. Haridwar being a holy township and Uttarakhand a land of abode of Gods , the peaceful and tranquil environment of this spiritual state is being VITIATED with violence and unethical practices. It is not that everyone is bad but there are few elements from outer states who vitiate the peaceful environment of Haridwar and different locations of Uttarakhand by their violent activities under the guise of being the Kamwariyas. This is uncalled for as religion and spirituality teaches us tolerance rather than thrashing human beings with lathis mercilessly or damaging shops. A fresh incident of violence happened in the Haridwar market yet again in which few Kaanwariyas who had gone to buy spectacles in a shop on the outer side of the Shiv Bhakt Lodge have completely damaged a spectacle shop leading to the losses of thousands of rupees including spreading panic in the area. The Kanwariya in a feat of absolute anger became berserk and started damaging the goggles shop taking a few minutes to destroy it completely and smashing all the spectacles and the shop. The badly terrified shopkeeper ran away clandestinely to protect himself. They finally left the venue in public glare threatening not to open their mouth against them. The Haridwar police came into action and caught two of the vandals , handcuffing them and lodging FIRs against the stringent sections of the BNS putting them in jail. Both the young boys were from Fatehabad, Haryana and were merely twenty years old. Their video has gone viral on social media and the police coming into swift action.
