Had Railway Protection Force/ police reached the New Delhi Railway station in time the tragedy could have been averted say eyewitnesses

The tragedy that occured at the New Delhi Railway station stampede resulting in the brutal death of 15 passengers and injuries to several others reminds us of the massive tragedy at Mahakumbh , Prayagraj a few days ago in which too about thirty persons were declared dead and several injured.
Though keeping in view the parameters of the tragedy, people say that the casualties in both these cases must have been higher in numbers but the actual and true datas of the dead are not being revealed.
According to the inputs being received now there was a complete failure of the Railways and the Railway police including other law enforcing agencies as the eyewitness to this tragedy are speaking in front of the cameras saying that there was no police arrangement during or before the tragic stampede took place and the police arrived after more than an hour ( late) after the tragedy that witnessed fifteen dead.
It may be recalled that hundreds rather thousands of passengers with tickets and without tickets, not to speak of reservations, have assembled in the New Delhi Railway station with all the entry and non entry points completely blocked due to excessive crowds with luggage.
The rush was so extreme that the crowd was moving forward towards the platforms and those coming out were pushed backwards.
This heavy rush was due to the anxiety of the passengers with and without reservation and even without tickets desperate to go to Mahakumbh, Prayagaraj.
The witnesses say that the rush was so massive that nobody was able to move ahead or backwards.
The stampede occured when there was announcement of the Prayagaraj train ready to go to Mahakumbh on platform number 14 and thereafter information on speaker about the change of platforms.
The people started rushing crushing each other under their feet with women, children and senior citizens the worst victims. While most of the passengers have died in the stamped after being crushed including children , several others died of suffocation say some eye witnesses with hundreds of broken slippers seen on the escalators.
The question being asked us where was the railway administration ? Where was the Railway Protection Force ? Where was the local police and what about the intelligence inputs about the swelling crowd in New Delhi Railway station from where the police headquarters and offices of other agencies including the railways are few kilometres away.
This tragedy occured at 9.45 PM but the crowd has started swelling in the New Delhi Railway station after eight PM said several onlookers.
Sounds shocking , that despite the crowds swelling in thousands there was no police, law enforcing agency official and no Railway authority’s higher up to ensure that the crowd is controlled and the tragedy stopped were available at the accident site before and at the time of the mishapoening.
Even after this huge tragedy the eyewitnesses say that police arrived after more than an hour. About twenty ambulances carried the dead and seriously injured to LNJP hospitals said the eye witnesses .
Some even saw people dying in front of them but nobody was there to protect them such were the tragic scene with no police in sight.
Some videos are going viral in social media showing traumatized passengers lifting the dead body of their wives, children, daughters on their soldiers and some lift them by legs while other trying to give CPR but not a single policeman, paramedic, doctor or disaster management official is seen helping them.
One family who had got their tickets for Prayagraj reserved in third AC couldn’t board their train as the crowd would not allow them to enter their compsrtment. The Cooli took rupees two thousand to put their luggage in their compartment.
The Railway minister however has issued a post on his X saying everything is under control, after the tragedy yesterday night. What a ridiculous statement. People were dying, crying and being ferried to hospital and 15 already died , the railway minister says everything is under control. Yesterday night’s tweet of Ashwani Vaishnavi says : Situation under control at New Delhi railway station (NDLS) Delhi Police and RPF reached. Injured taken to hospital. Special trains being run to evacuate sudden rush. However in another tweet he compensated saying : Deeply saddened by the unfortunate stampede that occurred at New Delhi Railway Station. My prayers are with all those who have lost their loved ones. The entire team is working to assist all those who have been affected by this tragic incident.

New Delhi Railway station tragedy is pathetic.
The safety precautions should be taken by the authority railway well in advance!
