Garhwali movie “Thokdar,” to be screened at Garhwal Bhawan on 24 th September

There is a good news for Uttarakhandies residing in Delhi n NCR. On 24 th September the Garhwali film THOKDAR (थोकदार) is being shown in three shows from 11.00 AM to 1.30 P. M. From 2.00 PM to 4.30 PM and then from 5 PM to 7.30 PM. The purpose of exhibiting this movie is primarily to promote Garhwali dialect amongst Uttarakhandies in Delhi. The regional movie Thokdar was quite a hit in Dehradun and Rishikesh theatres, screened there last month drawing huge crowds. Previously it was to be screened on 25 th September at Garhwal Bhawan but its scheduled has now been changed to 24 th September. The movie is featuring several popular stars of Garhwal Uttarakhand with Rajesh Malgudi playing the lead role. Produced by Debu Rawat the lead actors of the movie are Rajesh Malgudi, Pannu Gusain, Ranbir Chouhan, Shivani Bhandari, Roshan Upadhyay, Shushma Vyas, Indu Bhatt, Rajesh Naval Semwal, Rajendra Rawat, Pradeep Naithani, Vikas Kotnala, Raju Negi, Vinay, Ajay Bharti, Manohar Sati, Sohan Uniyal and Purshottam Jethari. Based on a decent story it’s primarily a family melodrama based on the theme of victory of the good over evil.
