GARHWAL HITESHINI SABHA ELECTIONS ON 16, MARCH. WHO WILL WIN IS ANYONE’S GUESS

Tomorrow is the voting of the Garhwal Hiteshini Sabha elections. The campaigning of the three groups contesting this election is in full swing. This election of Garhwal Hiteshini Sabha has become very hectic and interesting because now the tenure of the newly office bearers have been enhanced to three years from the earlier duration of two years.
This amendment was made during the previous tenure of Ajay Bisht and his entire panel with everyone supporting it in the general house.
The Garhwal Hiteshini Sabha is the biggest representative social organisation of Garhwalies in Delhi that came into existence at Quetta, Pakistan in 1930.
The completion of its hundred years were celebrated last year at Talkatora Stadium with pomp and show, vigour and vitality with Bollywood singer Jubin Nautiyal being the star singer of the important show and several important dignitaries including the senior Supreme Court judge Sudhanshu Dhulia and several others gracing the centenary celebrations with their significance presence.
The Garhwal Hiteshini Sabha has total 4500 members from Delhi and NCR. This time three hundred new members have been added to GHS.
The Garhwal Hiteshini body consists of President, Vice President, General Secretary, Secretary, Treasurer, assistant treasurer, organising secretary and secretaries of culture, literature and sports including a central executive of 14 members.
The contesting office bearers are visiting houses of the members of Garhwal Hiteshini Sabha in various parts of Delhi seeking support including using the social media via media to the hilt to canvass support for their respective candidates.
In several social media groups the war of arguments between the contesting panels is on full swing whereas the important issues like Vacation of the Garhwal Bhawan by the Sale wala Mr. Aggarwal including other issues regarding repair and renovation of the Bhawan are also being discussed.
There are also charges of misuse of the funds of Garhwal Bhawan by the contesting parties whereas the the outgoing body of GHS is trying to seek mileage for organising the centenary celebrations in a befitting manner. However the rival panels sees in the centenary celebration lot of vulgar ostentation and alleged misuse of funds etc.
The three panels in the fray are one led by the outgoing president Ajay Bisht and Anil Pant , the second led by the ex president prior to Ajay Bisht and Pawan Maithani while the third panel led by advocate Rakesh Binjola comprising of nine contestants for the post of executive committee members.
Kindly recall that this election is being held by the intervention of the court after the advocate Rakesh Binjola filed a petition challenging the earlier election saying that the time is less and the Garhwal Bhawan venue is not being made available hence the honourable court is requested to issue directives for the fresh elections on another date. The honourable court has asked to come to the court after holding the elections with compliance report on 21 st April.
There was quite a complicated situation earlier when the four election officers led by Lalit Mohan Dhaundiyal , Chief election officer had declared the nomination of the one its the presidential candidates Ajay Bisht as revoked due to the technical errors including candidature of fourteen other office bearers during scrutiny.
This was opposed tooth and nail by panel number one and the chief election officer urged both the panels to arrive at the amicable solution and execute the election in a fair manner but the panel number two wasn’t agreeing .
This resulted in Mr.Dhaundiyal resigning in a huff and order the general house to reanounce the new election date.
Meanwhile the three assistant election officers declared the Panel number 2 presidential candidate as considered elected unopposed including 14 other office bearers of panel one which was termed as a conspiracy of three assistant election officers siding with the Panel number two strongly opposed by the Panel No.1 who locked the office of the election officers thus not allowing them to function leading to chaos.
