Gangwar like situation in Uttarakhand. Kunwar Champion, 4 term MLA arrested for firing with his accomplices at the camp office cum residence of Umesh Kumar MLA
A gang war like situation erupted in Khanpur constituency, today in Uttarakhand when former MLA known as a Dabang ” audacious” alongwith his forty to fifty supporters with lathis and guns / pistols barged in the house compound of the sitting independent Khanpur MLA Umesh Kumar, formerly the chief editor, proprietor of Samachar Plus new channel and fired several rounds with the video going vital in social media.
On the other hand after knowing about this incident the sitting lawmaker Umesh Kumar too holding a pistol in his hand ran in desperation towards the former MLA Kunwar Pranav Champion in anger in retaliation but police in uniform and some of his supporters disuaded him to to retaliate and he agreed after being overpowered.
There are reports that Kunwar Pranav Champion has later been taken into custody by the local police with Pranav Champion blaming the police to be partisan saying that when Umesh Kumar came to his house with the intent to attack him the police did not intervened but when we fired in self defence we have been arrested.
This is injustice said enraged champion from the police van while in custody.
Meanwhile the sitting Khanpur lawmaker Umesh Kumar has in a social media post briefly wrote in Hindi : I want to appeal to all my followers to kindly maintain peace and tranquility as we have full faith in the law of the land. Never, create any anarchist situation wrote the sitting Khanpur MLA tk his followers through his brief post.
It may be recalled that the confrontation between Umesh Kumar, the sitting independent MLA and the BJP former MLA earlier in Congress Pranav Champion is almost few years old and several videos in the past of both accusing and repeatedly challenging each other have been appearing in social media.
In one of the bytes with the news channels Umesh Kumar has accused Pranav Champion of openly firing on his house repeatedly in full public glare and abusing his mother too attacking his followers.
The earlier Laxar and Khanpur MLA four times previously in Congress, now in BJP Kunwar Pranav Singh champion is tall and healthy and very audacious with moustaches claiming him to be from the royal family.
Umesh Kumar is the first term sitting MLA having won as an independent candidate , who is highly connected and controversial having been the chief editor and owner of the news channel “Samachar Plus” having done a sting on the then chief minister of Uttarakhand Harish Rawat at Jollygrant airport, Rishikesh in 2016-17. During the tenure of the then BJP chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat he was wrapped with several cases and was behind bars too complaining of vindictive attitude of the then CM. Meanwhile, the senior superintendent of police , Haridwar range Parminder Dobhal has while giving the details of the case said that former MLA Kunwar Pranav Champion alongwith his accomplices has fired on the camp office of sitting MLA of Khanpur Umesh Kumar the video of which has gone viral in social media and television channels. He assured of taking stringent legal action against the culprit in this s case. The four term MLA during the tenure of then CMs N.D.Tiwari, Vijay Bahuguna and Harish Rawat Pranav Champion had been the state minister Rank holder. He changed loyalty from Congress towards the saffron party in 2022.
