GANGOTRI HIGHWAY- UTTARKASHI TO HARSHIL OPENED AFTER TWENTY FOUR DAYS OF DHARALI TRAGEDY

After the incessant dedicated work of the Border Roads Organisation and the Army personnel twenty four days post Dharali massive tragedy, the completely blocked road known a Gangotri Highway from Uttarkashi to Harshil has been reopened for the traffic.
This was opened six days ago.
At present in 4×4 vehicles have been accorded permission to ply on this Highway since the road is not metalled at present and needs thorough perfection.
The BRO will soon rectify it permanently with concrete and charcoal.
After the opening of the road, the Border Roads Organisation Commander Raj Kishore, first reached Gangotri Dham via Harshil-Dharali, where they visited and worshipped Maa Ganga.
At the same time, the priests welcomed the BRO and Army team that restored the highway. The NDRF, SDRF, the Indian Army and BRO as a dedicated team are busy in bringing back normalcy at Dharali Harshil and the roads, highways affected by the massive deluge eith silt and boulders. Kudos.
